Seantrel Henderson/USC

Wonder what this dude is thinking after the whole dog and pony show he put on, to end up at USC who is now banned from bowls for 2 years. This kid (and his parents) should have used their brains and committed to Iowa. Instead, he did the whole "I'm Big Time" thing and it has come back to haunt him.

I believe USC will have a difficult time coming back from this. The loss of schollys will set them back as will the stigma that the whole program is dirty and run by a complete scoundrel. Eventually they will return, but it will take a number of years.

Everyone has known USC is dirty and they are still worshipped. They only stigma that is a real deterrent is isolation. They need to be off TV during this period as well. Perhaps make the term of the punishment one year for each year and ineligible play was on the squad.

I bet his Dad is really po'd.

And I wonder if they gave their new coach Kiffin the job fully well knowing that they'd be in trouble - Kiffin knowing same. How else can you justify the huge salary without the record to justify the salary. They knew he could be a snake oil salesman like no other to help them get through this tough period. something to think about, IMO.

His family wanted to be in Cali, that was the story. I'm sure they really don't care as long as Seantrel gets to start for 3 years and goes in the 1st round.

I'm calling that he's going to be a bust. Not that I have any ill will towards the guy, but just think it'll be next to impossible to live up to the hype and expectations.

Seantrel's dad screwed him big-time.

A big part of the allure of USC was exposure ... and now USC is going to have to operate with 10 fewer 'ships and will not be playing in bowl games at the end of the season!

LOL! Just another reason why kids have to enter the process with a level head and not let the ambitions of their parents get the better of them.

Why is it going to be impossible? Is it because he didnt come to Iowa? Yes there are players who dont live up to the hype, but more times than not they make it out. Its all about heart and determination and none of us know if he has it or not, so i wouldnt be so quick to write him off just yet.

Ahh - I didn't see anything that attributed his comments to any particular time.
In fact I still read his quote as being recent in the ESPN article.

If SH and his dad didn't ask the hard questions about the on-going investigation, shame on them.

If they did, got accurate info, and chose to ignore it, shame on them.

If they did and USC BS'd it, then shame on USC.

Either way, SH has ended up making a poor choice it seems.

Million dollar question....IF SH leaves USC, and indicates he wants to go to Iowa...would KF take him?

If Seantrel can get released from his commitment to USC, you should expect him to be tOSU bound ... that is, if Tressel and Co aren't feeling too spurned.

As for whether Ferentz would take him in? I would imagine that that would all depend on who's doing the talking. If Seantrel and his mom approach KF and leave the dad at home ... there's a chance that Ferentz would give the kid a shot. Ferentz made a comment after signing day emphasizing that Henderson was a good kid. The way Ferentz delivered it, my impression was that the comment was simultaneously meant to reflect his admiration for Seantrel and his irritation with Sean.

As per the USC site, Henderson still isn't eligible. He needs to "clean up" at least one class. Also, were you aware that Minny has self-reported at least 2 minor recruiting violations regarding Henderson?

I feel for the kid, it seems his Dad was looking for the school that was best for him not the best fit for his son.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I thought Henderson never actually signed with anyone. Didn't he give a "super verbal" to USC saying he wanted to wait and see how this investigation played out before he signed?
