Scott Van Pelt's Thoughts on Iowa in the Dance

I saw this. Very interesting. Either way... it is good that we are drawing some attention and turning some heads. Very good win for the Hawks.

The Nebraska loss is what will hurt us. We were in the lead nearly that entire game. I have thought that since that game. If we were 8-7 right now with games left @Ill., @Neb. and with NW, the talk would look a lot more realistic.

Campbell as well, but I would also mention the PSU loss, too. Nobody is mentioning that one. PSU is bringing up the rear in the Big Ten (along with Nebby). That's another game I'd really like to have back.

The thing is... even though our resume is not that great... the bubble is very "soft" and there are other teams on it that don't have much of a right to be there over Iowa if we keep winning. (Just echoing the thoughts of SVP here a little bit)

I imagine good wins in February and March outweigh bad losses in January, December, and November. I believe one of the things the committee always looks at (or at least used to) is last 10 games. If we have a chance, we stay hot in this scenario.

The Committee did away with looking at the last ten games several years ago.

Exactly right. Beating back to back ranked teams is huge for Iowa right now, the timing couldn't be better nor could the B1G status as a bball conference right now. If Iowa can keep the momentum up and keep being a story they've got a legit shot.

Wait. people on here were saying were no where near the conversation. That wasn't two games ago. maybe now they will believe.

Regardless of record, virtually none of the teams on the bubble even have a good record against top 25 teams. Certainly none of them have four wins against top 25 teams.
