Scoring 2010 Minnesota Tickets??

I was just wondering how difficult it will be scoring Iowa vs Minny tickets this year? Iowa fans have yet to travel to their new corporate financed stadium & if I remember correctly, Minnesota has made it more difficult to purchase tickets. Couple that with more interest in their fan base with a new stadium on campus, and it could be a bit difficult compared to past years.

What do you all anticipate?

The letter we got with our season ticket package stated that tickets were going to be VERY Limited. I read that as "Big Donors Only". However, in previous seasons at Minny, they've made you buy two games to be able to get Iowa tickets. We did that two years ago and plan on doing it again this year if we can.

Iowa's record come November will determine price/availability for the Minnesota Game.

I live up here and would love to go as well. The Goophs had a lot of negative publicity b/c they didn't pack the stands the first year like they thought. Let's hope it's another year of mediocre MN football and their fans will want to sell, sell, sell.

I'm torn on this. On one hand the stadium is smaller and it sells out every time we go there (because we send 30,000+). 2008 was hard to find tickets under face value on game day. On the other hand Minnesota fans are extremely unloyal and probably won't show up to an outdoor stadium in mid november. Of course this is the first time so we don't know yet.
My buddy lives in minneapolis now and is getting a block. A few years ago they had a residency requirement but I think they did away with that (how lame is that, sounds like something pollard would do).
Basically, this situation hasn't happened before. We don't know how many fans from either side will go outdoors in mid november. Less supply, but don't know demand.

I don't anticipate it being a problem up here.

for you or Iowa fans in general?

They are only giving Iowa 3,000 tickets instead of the normal 4,000 that most Big Ten away teams get. A friend in the athletic office said that Minny tickets will be tough to get.

How can this be? Are they just allowed to pick how many tickets they give the other school? So if we wanted to say we didn't want to give Ohio State any tickets we could?

They will be easy to get if you are willing to pay the price. Last year (nor this year) did the Gopher athletic ticket office sell single game tickets. So the whole dynamics in past years for games at the Metro dome such as in-state residency orders first, two-game packages etc. are now irrelevant. Gopher football is going to be worse this year than last year and they had attendance problems starting last mid-season. But every one of those "fans" that bails on the Gophers this season will see dollar signs in their eyes to gouge Iowa fans to recover part of the cost of their season tickets.

Getting tickets ahead of time, no idea. But I plan on scalping, never had a problem before and don't anticipate one this year either. I doubt tickets will be much more than face under any circumstances. Can't wait to lay claim to their new stadium

I've scalped up at the dome in the past and never had a problem either. Two things to remember for this year, the new stadium holds 10-15k less people and it's on campus which should increase student attendence as opposed to the downtown dome. The point is tickets will be harder to come by and thus likely increasing the scalping value.

Are you forgeting that their fans suck and its outside in mid november? I definitely anticipate a low attendance on their part.

I suspect there will be a few less Hawk fans there this year because I don't think the Feldman party will be going to the game.
