Scoreboard showing 44-7

For those of you who were at the game, did anyone else see that they kept changing the scoreboard to show AZ 44 - Iowa 7, multiple times throughout the game?

Concidence that it's the same final score at ASU-Iowa?

Come on U of A. Show a little class.

Not coincidence. The Gazette guys said multiple times they flashed 44 - whatever Iowa's score was.

that seems weird, why would you care what the score was of ASU game. If Iowa State pounded a team we wouldn't be promoting that during a game.

I saw that too. I had forgotten what the ASU/Iowa score was but now it makes sense. Real classy AZ...

that's hilarious whoever thought of that is a genius...mind games are great. If it works, great, if it didn't have any effect on the outcome, who cares...there's no way to lose anything by doing that.

Agreed. I didn't find it "genius", "clever", or anything of the sort. I found it to be completely classless and desperate.

At Kinnick, we welcome the opposition, play their fight song, etc. At Arizona, no welcome, nothing.

They've got a ways to go in terms of having a classy program.

Haha...don't take it so heavy not everyone cares about being classy and that's their right. In this situation they needed every bit of gamesmanship to help them win the game, which, last I checked, winning is classy in itself no matter how it's done.

You would think there would be rules against messing with the official scoreboard. Maybe AZ will be forced to forfeit the win due to some technicality.

Wouldnt that be weird. If they did that Id rather the take that win away from MSU because clearly the play clock ran out. Also I hate Michigan State more than any team that has ever played a sport.

That's obviously an unreasonable request. It's difficult to respect a program that obviously has no clue on how to at least actt like they've been there before.

Obviously, I don't know you, but I disagree with your statement.

Did you mean to say, "A win is still a win"?

From my view, winning in and of itself does not make it classy.
I have seen plenty of games where the ultimate game winner behaved in less than classy manner...running up the score, endless taunting and the like.

All I know, is we make an effort to teach our youngsters there are such things as being a gracious winner and loser.

Question for everyone then: Lets say the AZ game was at home, would you rather of had us win the game with 4 personal fouls, 2 taunting penalties, and have someone put up, lets say, "Wildcrap" instead of Wildcats on the scoreboard...Or lose the game with none of those things happening and have some AZ message boarders saying, "boy that Iowa is a classy outfit."...

This question is would you rather "win or be classy", which is a different question than whether "winning itself is classy", as you previously stated.


Bottom line about the scoreboard, who freaking cares. The only way it affects you is if you let it affect you. I highly doubt the players even noticed.
