Say Goodbye: CyHawk Trophy is done

The CyHawk Trophy is no more. Was just interviewed for a story that will be on KCCI tonight. Not sure if they will make a new trophy with Iowa Corn Sponsorship on it. But what we have seen for 34 years is toast.

It's about time they 86ed that monstrosity.
 


Hopefully we also get rid of the lose-lose situation game soon as well. Does nothing for Iowa except bragging rights and even that doesn't matter because Iowa has bigger things to work for. However, Iowa State would lose everything if the game ever stops, especially now that Nebraska is no longer on their schedule.

And just think if we stopped playing them and the Big 12 blew up and Iowa stopped playing them. They really would have nothing.
 




Is this the first step in stopping the series. It's really a lose lose situation. If you win, it's expected. If you lose you're looked on as a bad team.

I would rather we all quit being crybabies and making excuses and beat them 9 out of 10 times, but that seems to run counter to prevailing Hawk fan wisdom.

As far as the trophy goes, this is a good day for both schools...that trophy was disastrous to the point of being an embarrassment when they'd show it on TV.

I don't know anyone who gave to sharts about it in the first place. Except the 'clone fans when they were ahead.
 


they pry ran out of places for etchings of game scores. that or the sponsor high vee wants a larger sponser
 


The trophy was pretty embarrasing. We should have played for school songs or something unique. Instead we had a piece of wood and metal that looked like it was dreamt up by a committee.

Half the time the figures on top weren't even fastened all the way so when people picked it up they wobbled around.
