Sagarin Computer Poll has IOWA's Strength of Schedule

at #31 and the Hawkeyes are ranked #23 by the poll.

IOWA's strength of schedule is HIGHER than Northwestern, Illinois or Minnesota.

So, please stop with the 'Who have we played' crap.

Pitt is 3-1, Wisconsin at Madison is a Very good win, Ilinois State is a good team (ask UNI)
......heck, the Clowns are .500, until this Saturday.

Sagarin needs to compute how can Florida be ranked below Ole Miss, after destroying them, by 30 ?

no worries. Soon Iowa will play ILL, NW and Minn and then we won't have to compare schedules.

I agree. Iowa hasn't played any worse schedule than any other teams out there. Actually, I think Iowa and NW are the only 2 conf teams to play 2 P5 teams in the non-conf. Iowa has had a road rivalry game which is difficult no matter how bad IA ST tanks the rest of the year and they played a tough Pitt team so are battle tested.

My point is this is no different than most teams out there.

... and you forgot Nebby at #47. They've been harping all year about our "weak schedule". 2-3 against their schedule = bottom feeder.

Our SOS will hold us back when the comparisons move to a 13-0 Iowa team against a 12-1 Bama and 11-1 Baylor or TCU during the buildup to the playoffs. We really need Pitt to win the ACC to add some legitimacy because Nebraska and Wisconsin won't do us any favors.

There is a horse wildly chasing a cart there. I love the optimism and don't discount that it is remotely possible but Iowa fought like hell for home wins vs a decent Il state team, a pretty good Pit team and on the road against a very mediocre IA state team. It's a nice early resume deserving of some respect, and there is room for optimism at a west title shot ( which will be considered all season long like winning Miss Benton County by the rest of the country) but every week is scary. With that said, at this point of the season, I love what the Hawks have done, the resume is better than advertised and I believe they can be special but I doubt they will match the 2002 conference record. I want more than anything to be wrong about that.

Fun to speculate. Interesting discussion about schedule. Polls polls polls. Not sure we need to concern ourselves about polls after five games. Yes, we fans can get a little giddy, but the team better remain focused about the team facing them next.

Think Illini, because they are thinking Hawkeyes, a RANKED TEAM. Ripe for upset! Yummy

Keep improving Hawks. Keep your focus.

You all do realize this is only relevant as long as Iowa remains undefeated. I think I'll hold off on worrying about this until after the Northwestern game and the break.
