"Ryan has run perhaps the most admirable program in Division I basketball"

they are probably correct, but Bo just leaned the hardway it takes a lifetime to build a reputation and a minute to destroy it.

So he took the high road in keeping someone on scholarship, not much different than the coaches at Iowa did keeping JR Angle among many others. Have confidence in the players that want to stay with your program along with your own coaching abilities and allow someone who wants to leave to go where ever he wants.

Translation: Mike likes his BTN gig and is ready and willing to defend a league coach against the rest of the media wardogs, like ESPN, and CBS.
Funny how he mentions the Big East rule, which used to be the Big Ten rule before Bo and Brust overturned it. Now, wild west could ensue in Big Ten transfer recruiting among league coaches, all thanks to this great man,Bo.
I am taking it with a grain of salt.

Being controversial sells. He is going with Bo, which is objective to 99% of everyone else, so he is just stirring the pot if you will to stir up viewers.

The problem with his explanation is that he kept adding schools/conferences to his list. If all he wanted was an explanation, the initial ban would have done it. Spin job by UW/Bo Ryan, and not a very good one at that.

Or he could have just said, "We'd be glad to release him. We just want him to come in and talk to us about it. Once he does that, we'll grant him a full release."

Basically, I'm saying that Bo is fibbing.

There really isn't that much to admire with Bo and Wisconsin:

1. Thug ball
2. flopping
3. constant, and I mean constant, intimidation of the referees
4. Complete hypocrisy and double standard on Brust v Uthoff
5. Crybaby loser, never giving the other team much credit

He certainly has won a lot of games. Admire? No way:mad:
