If i looked correctly, according to kenpom rankings Rutgers is the second worst team we've played all season. That's insane considering they are technically a major conference team. You don't typically see major teams that low. For perspective, Iowas last year under Lick when we were 10-22 and lost to awful teams we still were ranked about 100 places above Rutgers.

This is true but if we play to our talent level this should be a game that our bench players could get some valuable minutes.

I watched the Purdue-Rutgers game. While Purdue blew them out, Rutgers was still playing hard through most of the game. I feel sorry for the guys on the team. They're just out-matched. Iowa should be able to come out with a win as long as they don't look beyond them.

Rutgers is just a disaster right now. I hate playing teams like that. They know you should win, you know you should win, that's when weird things can happen.

Don't know which University/sports program is in more dire straits.....Rutgers or Illinois. Both are a mess.

A little OT but relevant to this discussion. I absolutely hate that they added Rutgers just to get the New York market, a market that doesn't care much about college sports in general. I would have much preferred to have added Missouri, a school that applied and got turned away. Missouri would have brought in the Saint Louis and Kansas City markets, both in the midwest where college sports is extremely popular. But the payment structure of the BTN being based on subscriptions they brought Rutgers in for the extra money. JMO

I agree, they should have gone after schools with football teams that move then needle. TV regions are dead. You can watch any game, any where now.
