Devyn currently has 1,107 total points, leaving him 672 points short of #2 all time.

Assuming he scores his average of 15 pts in a loss to Maryland (thereby ending this season), Dev needs to average 19.3 ppg over a 34 game season in 2013-14 in order to finish #2 all-time. His father, Roy, is #1. Dev would need to average 29.1 ppg to pass his dad.

He would need to average 16.3 points over a 34 game season next year in order to surpass Ronnie Lester for #5 all-time.

He'd need to average 11.7 points over a 34 game season to pass Don Nelson for #10.

He is currently Iowa's #26 all-time leading scorer.

I think he will definitly be in the top 5. That would be great that 40% of the top 5 scorers would be from the same family. This just shows how much he has grown as a player since many thought the only thing he was was a token scholly to a legacy of a great.

If we are fortunate enough to play this year's number of 37 games, Dev would need to average 17.8 ppg next year.

Why are we assuming a loss to the turtle? Add one more game in there:)

I didn't want to give him the bunny. I felt a little guilty giving him the extra 15, but it's unreasonable to think that he won't score against Maryland, so I just gave him his average. If I have my druthers, Dev's got another 50 points in him this season.

Just think where he might be if he didn't go through his "slump" aka injury this year. He would be a lot closer.

The craziest part is how many he would have to average to pass his dad...29.1 ppg.

That just shows how great his dad was because devyn has been great for the hawks yet he is that far from his dad. Devyn started slow with his frosh year being mediocre.

nice work

Hmmm, pops averaged over 20 a game as a senior. But then that was a different era of basketball when officials actually called fouls on the defense and offenses ruled the day.

Where are those people now, that complained Devin wouldn't amount to anything. Because they were out there and there were more than just a few of them. They are nowhere to be found, that's where they are. They talk big at the time and they know it all. But when they are proved to be clueless they are nowhere.

i'm just getting started on this. Man, I could do a whole rant on those posters.

I think anyone who watched Dev and knew even a little bit about basketball could see he'd be special. Even as a frosh you could see it. He just needed to add a little bit of strength and a mid range jumper. he could get by pretty much anyone he just had a tough time finishing.

Those who doubted Devyn as a frosh and those of you who doubted him earlier this season are clueless.

It is about time that somebody went back and brought back those old threads. I remember certain posters saying that Marble will be much better than Basabe before it is all done....and others who said he was a wasted scholarship.

if anything, Marble is a lesson that some kids take time to develop. yes, thawki has rightly pointed out that some one here were quick to just throw him away. maybe those same folks can take a break on it when it comes to JO, Woodbury, and Clemmons. i know a message board is where you come to act tough and pretend you're smart, but i wish some could just settle down on the calling out of players. they can get better, you know.
