Rodney Coe Pre-Madonnna

personally, I think any journalist that uses Twitter for anything other than the "I'm transferring" "I'm comitting" type of stuff is a total ******* hack.

following around kids on Twitter and writing about or retweeting the day to day life or stuff said in the heat of the moment is lazy and total ****. its a non story.

if you want to contact someone and ask them a question about a tweet fine, but don't treat the tenet itself as news. its ******* not.

It's prima donna!!! For cripes sake!

From UrbanDictionary.com: Used by idiots who do not know the real phrase is prima donna.

And yes, UrbanDictionary.com is a reputable source. :D

Rob Howe making himself part of the story again. What a surprise.

Pre-Madonna is the time period in the 70s when a singer could make it on vocal talent alone.

Gonzo "journalism" is pre-Madonna. Epitomized by the late Hunter S. Thompson, gonzo "journalism" is a style of reporting where reporters involve themselves in the action to such a degree that they become central figures of their stories.

Obviously Coe was referring to Howe w/ the "Pre-Madonna" comment.

Apologies if this has already been posted, but I haven't seen it. I hope Coe still has Iowa in his plans, but this is kinda funny...kinda sad.

Former Iowa Commit Argues With Fans, Calls Out "Pre Madonnas"

Life before Madonna was pretty tough, you got to give it him. ;)

The quote is funny, but this is ancient history and isn't even close to the full story, go see the Recruiting forum with multiple threads. Coe was frustrated initially and to his credit backed way off, even engaged in some good-natured, intelligent teasing, by the end of the day. It helped that a number of non-dbag Iowa fans tweeted him encouraging notes. More recently he's tweeted "I love Iowa" and said he had a very positive talk with the coaches.

I came away pretty impressed on balance with Coe.

English language is a funny thing pre-maddonna vs prima donna. Pre-mature vs Primature. I don't get it. I honestly don't remember a pre-maddona world. It has been a "material" world ever since I can remember.

it wasn't what kozan posted on twitter, it is what howe put out about kozan on his twitter account - something like a decision to be made in 36 hours.

i think that is what is being referenced.

OK thanks for clearing that up because i didn't remember seeing any tweets from him when i saw his twitter.

My advise to these kids, instead of getting mad and saying stupid things on facebook or twitter (and many of them do), get mad and go lift weights. Bottle that stuff up and let it explode in game time. Like I said before, I don't like to be told I can't, so I understand his temper getting away from him in the heat of the moment. You have to learn to focus that energy. You have to get the "little engine that could" attitude. If you do that and have the ability to keep an open mind and realize, sometimes plans change, you have won the battle and will do fine.
As for the spelling, meh. Everyone knows I am the last person to grip about that. Not a story to me, sounds more like some fan or reporter (who never played ball) got butt hurt and wants to get the last word.

Prima donna is used incorrectly on message boards on a daily basis. As is wanna be and about 10,000 other sayings. I would say typing pre-maddona pretty much makes him normal and would fit right in here.
