Rising star in Joshua Jackson?

The pass interference was on Niemann. Didn't turn his head around so the ref threw the flag. Really can't argue the call, just unfortunate as it was clearly going to be picked off.

The PI on Niemann was justified, though it wasn't an outrageous penalty. Ben had a good game against ISU.

I think he certainly is, carried both Mighty Ducks 1 and 2, and his selfless choice to sit out the final game was a big reason the US won gold in MD2.

Iowa using dime coverage!?!? I'm glad that we are starting to play like a modern football team! Not really a fan of staying in the 4-3 on 3rd and long. But yes, always fun to see freshman step up in big games.

this is not the first - heck of a lot easier to defend a team if you have the capability to stay in a base defense - but against the clowns - easier to run a nickel/dime package when you know they can't run the ball.

He looked like he belonged out there and Saturday will be one of his toughest assignments of the year. Wonder if last week's late performance by Iowa's backup CB's had anything to do with his shot. He made the most of it, regardless.

Jackson was a part of the late performance. He badly missed an open field tackle on the WR he was defending on Illinois State's second TD. Hopefully Illinois State was a great teaching lesson that led to better play against Iowa State.

Which, btw, if Draper was in uniform against Iowa State he was not in the DBs' photo taken with the trophy after the game. Is he still on the team? Further, don't believe he's seen the field except for special teams against Illinois State.
