...seems like an obvious move. Pitt desperately needs a coach now that they have fired Mike Haywood. Rodriguez consistently beat Pitt while the coach at WVU. His teams excelled in the Big East year after year.

Rich Rodriguez is a pretty good football coach. His offenses put up a lot of points in the past few years but his defense could not stop anyone. The defense, or lack thereof, was his undoing at Michigan.

Rich Rod can win at Pitt. I don't think he ever looked comfortable at Michigan. From the first game in his tenure to the blowout in the bowl game, I think Rich Rod quietly regretted leaving WVU. It will be interesting to see who UM hires and where Rich Rod ends up.
 




Actually, I heard that PSU's longtime DC Bradley was interested. That would be a better hire IMO just because of his familiarity with the area.

Ferentz to (insert NFL team here)

then followed by:

I think Ferentz would be a great hire by (insert NFL team here)
