Rex Ryan comments on Greene/LT situation

Coach Rex Ryan suggested that LaDainian Tomlinson will have a bigger role in the Jets' offense than originally expected.

"Hypothetically, we'd see [Tomlinson] carry the ball 15 times a game," Ryan said. "I'm sure some games he'll have more rushing attempts than Shonn Greene, and I think Shonn will have more than L.T. in other games." The Jets didn't bring in L.T. at $5M+ over two years to ride the pine, but Ryan also said he believes Greene is "a superstar in the making." Barring injury, Greene will lead the backfield in touches, with Tomlinson lowering his fantasy ceiling.

Dang, there goes my plan of drafting Greene in the 1st round of my fantasy draft.

I think this is great in the long run for Shonn. It may cut down on the number of his carries -- but I bet his production per carry will go up significantly. LT is a complement to Shonn's style.

But Shonn won't get as many TD's now. LT has been, and still is, the best back in the NFL at the goal line. He will likely get the majority of goal line touches.

I'd still draft Greene in the 1st or 2nd. LT is always hurt.

This will only help Shonn's life as an NFL RB expand. They're usually done by the time they hit 30-32. If he doesn't have to get 25 carries a game, it's better for him, plus I'm guessing NY wants a fresh Greene Machine in the 4th.
