I think Iowa got about the best division slotting we could have hoped for.
I'm just curious Jon. Under coach KF, what has the Hawks total record been against Minnesota, Northwestern, Michigan, Michigan State & Nebraska (yes please include the two losses to the Huskers in the total won-loss).
Then, what is the KF record against Ohio State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Purdue, Illinois & Indiana?
Besides the won-loss record, could you also include the winning percentage, because there will clearly be a different number of total games played agisnt these two groups.
Wisconsin got the worst deal out of reshuffling. But at least they will get to play Indiana, Illinois & Minnesota every year (gimmes). From the Hawkeye's viewpoint we've almost always had a tougher time with NWN than Illinois (negative) and with MSU than Indiana (another negative). But, for the most part, playing Michigan & Nebraska every year gives us a better road to a title game than playing Ohio State and Penn State every year. Purdue as our "annual cross-division rival" is really kind of sweet. Four of the other five teams in "our" division certainaly have more difficult "cross-division" annaul games, and unless Sparty ever gets their act together, their "gimme" rivalry game with Indiana should not be a reason we miss a division championship. As KF says, "play the schedule you're given and you will probably get what you deserve when the year is over."
