Remaining Games...

Honestly Indiana and Maryland are playing right with Michigan state and Penn state.
As I write this Maryland is up on the kitty cats and if Indiana had not missed two PATs and a field goal a minute ago they'd be ahead. Basically we gotta just take each one of these games a week at a time and play some good defense as we have been!

GO HAWKS!!

The Hawks are going to have their hands full the next two weeks. Going to be difficult to go 1-1 or better.

Well penn state is not that good and the analyst in Mich St game says sparty's offensive line is banged up and their Dee Line is getting pushed down the field.

Oh, sheesh.

Maryland hanging with PSU does not relate to Maryland at Iowa. Iowa has an OL. PSU has a strainer.

I thought all along Indiana would be an "L". Iowa's defense philosophy makes that game tough. But Indiana's defense = bullfighter.

I'm liking the Nebraska game more and more for a "W". Their defense can be pushed around and is out-of-position.

There are people on here that need to think how Iowa makes things difficult for their opponent. It's not a one-way street.

Yea even at 7 and 0 it's hard to get confident but I do have faith. Hopefully these kids just keep focused as they seem to be as of late!

Football wise, Iowa is much better than their remaining opponents. The only scary thing is that these teams will be playing with nothing to lose.

Still not worried about the terps. Indiana could be problematic.

Maryland is last in the conference in passing offense and 2nd to last in rushing defense. Odds are certainly in our favor.

Maryland, Indiana, Minnesota, and Purdue are the 4 of the bottom 5 teams in the Big Ten in rush defense, which is nice.

With a week to prepare, time to heel up and playing at home, Maryland doesn't scare me.

Both road games do.

Exactly. Iowa creates a great number of difficulties for opposing teams. Northwestern only put up 10 against Iowa but 30 against Nebraska. Indiana gives up huge points (107 in the last 2 games) which means Iowa should be able to put up several scores as well. Iowa's defense gave up a season high 24 against Pitt. Sounds promising to me but if people want to worry about impending doom then feel free. Go Hawks and Take Care of Business.

It's hard because the very few times Iowa has started this well something bad always happens. So wouldn't expect anything different. Iowa is not use to being the hunted and this type of opportunity. Teams that are, do much better when in these situations. It's been fun getting to 7-0 but fully expect to lose 1 or 2 games yet because we aren't Bama or OSU but nothing to be disappointed with for sure.

On the flip side, some of these teams may just be playing with little heart = minimal focus. Not a good thing when facing a smash-mouth football team like Iowa.

...and that Beathard could get hurt.

...or doesn't get healthy this off week. CJ at 100% or close is a game changer....especially with a healthy and relatively deep oline and receiving corp getting healthy.

He needs to also get lots of reps this week, so hopefully he's on the mend.

I just don't get why you people don't expect Iowa to win out. So far all they have done is beat everyone on their schedule. Every game I've been hearing the same old thing, it started with Illinois State and continued right through Northwestern, reason after reason why we should expect to lose. I fully expect to win the remainder of our games.

Remember DFinn............many of the same Negative nellies picked the Hawkeyes to be about
4-3, or worse, in their pre-season picks. Remember how the whiny 'expert/geniuses' thought the
IOWA Offensive line would be terrible ??? LOL!

I'm with you, DFinn. Hawkeyes will likely be favored in all 5 remaining games, in regular season.
I like our chances, with our solid defense and balanced offense.

Also, how is Stanford ranked higher than Iowa, when they LOST to NW ?

Because the more games you win, the bigger the target on your head gets. Every team wants to be the team that hands us our first loss.

It's VERY difficult to go 12-0, no matter the conference, or strength of schedule. Do I want it to happen? Of course. Do I think it will happen? I'm not sure yet.
