Did this seem like the most Kirk game ever? We all like the result but with the exception of the last four minutes, were you entertained? Were you more hopeful or disgusted? I guess I am boarding the train thinking Kirk may gracefully retire at years end. It's time.

Classic Kirk Ball

I've been to this game 3 times. They had the exact same feel. Ugh...

I'm not so sure of that. He does not seem to enjoy the coaching and effort needed in a job as stressful as his job as head coach entails.
FWIW, I have a friend that is close to a MAJOR donor. He said that KF is enjoying his job as much as ever. With the comfort level he has with his 3 coordinators and a great recruiting staff, there is less pressure on him from those aspects as ever.

I don't think he's been very involved with the defensive game plan for quite some time. Seeing the change in the offense, it's obvious that he was right when he said that Lester is in charge of the offense. Special teams is what it is. There's no question he still has input, but I'm sure he's got a pretty high level of confidence in those 3 areas. I'm sure that the stress of being the front man is the same as it's always been. People wanting him gone. PR events. Idiot media, managing all the things that come up with players, boosters, admin, etc.

I felt this was a trap game. After close misses against USC and Oregon, before the game with Nebraska, and senior day to boot, this game was hard to be enthused about. Although Penn State handled Nebraska on Saturday night Nebraska was fighting to the end. It'll take more emotion on Friday than yesterday.

I could see this being the reality of his situation. He is, at heart, a teacher. From my viewpoint, which is not close at all to anything, he really enjoys working with the kids and it is rewarding for him. It gives him purpose.

Does he hate losing? Yes. Do the losses bother him? Very much. But he is able to see a bigger picture than us fans are able to see. Very good at flushing a bad game and moving on to the next one. Just my 2 cents.

Yeah, this isn’t late stage Joe Paterno or Bobby Bowden being propped up by his staff. He is still as coherent as he has ever been. For the next 2-3 year, I’m good with Kirk being the CEO.

I think CEO is the best way to describe his current roll. I read that he's been spending more time with the offensive line than the past several years, which I'm sure he's enjoying.

I think Kirk is doing what a coach that hires competent coaches, manage them. I thought offensive play call was poor for the majority of this game. Not our OC’s best work
