Recruiting Roundup - Late Signing Period

I figured we could start a new thread for the late signing period. I still would encourage folks to check out the thread from the early period, especially the last few pages, to get up to speed on where things stand in case you missed anything.

Yesterday, I wrote about some linebackers on which to keep an eye both as potential scholarship adds and walk-ons. Here's the LINK.

As an update to that, I caught up with Jayden McDonald, who met with Seth Wallace twice on Tuesday, once at his school and then last night at his home. Here's what he told me Wallace said:

"He was just basically saying there’s opportunity to come in for early impact and that he can develop me and how great Iowa City is."

'18 Jewell (IA) South Hamilton LB Logan Klemp said Hawkeye head coach Kirk Ferentz visited him at school last Friday. Assistant Reese Morgan expected in this week. Klemp officially visiting NDSU this weekend.

Kelton Copeland visited '18 OK WR Nikia Jones (6-3, 210) on Tuesday. I've exchanged a few texts with Nokia and will probably write up a short story when I have him answer a few more questions.

Now that looks like a future Hawkeye! Second play on his highlight video is a pancake block 40 yards downfield!

Mike Timm, a '18 LB from Wisconsin, who Iowa is trying to add as a walk-on and was included in my LB story from yesterday, was offered a PWO from Michigan today. He still is visiting Iowa this weekend.

Always have to think about Iowa's weather in Jan. Hope McDonald makes it but not many available weekends to reschedule based on his published weekend visit schedule between now and Feb signing.

Iowa made contact with Nicholas Sligh, a '18 center from Athens, GA, for the first time today, he told me. He has a lot of interest/offers from Ivy, military academy and FCS schools. Film looks good.

Here's his senior highlights: LINK

Wow...impressive film and I think that's big school football in Georgia. I love the way he stays low and get's underneath people, then finishes. We want him. Strange he's only two stars playing at that level. I don't think I saw him pass block, but the run blocking was pretty sweet.

Alot of those pancakes looked like holding, but if it's not an OLine that he makes it as, he could just be a DT in a Jason mask.

P.S. you won't get that if you haven't listened to Eminem.

It's a PWO from in-state. He'll be announcing it on Twitter later today. I'll wait for him to do that.

Perfered walk on? Hell in this program statistics say he has a better chance of success then a 4* recruit.
