Receiving stats

A win's a win, so we'll definitely take it, but this is still eye-popping.

Wetjen is more of a gadget player. If you subtract his two swing passes, our WRs and TEs as a group had a total of 4 catches for 22 yards.

That's obviously not all on them, but still. . . Definitely not what I was expecting of Lester's offense this year.

That's 4 receptions for 24 yards, and Wetjen has been lined up as a wide out a number of times.

I don’t care how many passing yards we have if we run the ball like we did. Receivers were open on several occasions, but Gronowski air mailed the passes.

Not sure it matters who is the OC.
Or QB.
Sorry, but MG is as close to CJB, RS, or DT as this team has had since 2016 and he's what won that game. Neither Petras, Stanley, Brown, Stratton, Lainez, McNamara, Hill, Labas, Mansell, Padilla, nor Sullivan would've won that game.

Am I saying MG is CJB or Ricky Stanzi? No.

But is this the first QB outside of Chuck, Brad, Ricky, Drew, or CJ that we've had with balls and leadership and a killer attitude we've had in the past 24 years? Yes.

Remember how in '15/'16 how CJ looked like he had been hit by a bus (because he had), but he was still the commanding officer out on the fiield who guys believed in and trusted because he didn't shit his pants like Petras and Stanley at the first sight of a d-lineman? Just having that attitude out on the field rubs off on everyone. It calms everyone down because they know they're going into battle with a guy who's not going to turtle up.

MG seems to have that moxy. And at least last Saturday that's what got us over the hump.

Oops. Rapid math mistake there.

Wetjen lines up as a WR, but within the system, he used more as a gadget player. Primarily swing passes and toss sweeps.

Regardless, though, even if his stats are included, the numbers remain eye-opening considering the expectations coming into the season.
