Really CJ?

Probably has something to do with being the only power 5 team to start 2 walk on lineman. That just can't happen, and doesn't happen anywhere but Iowa.

It's the feel good story though. Walk on from Iowa playing.. The problem with this team is the number of walk ons, and guys from Iowa playing. Serious lack of talent due to piss poor recruiting by an inept coaching staff.

He is a pedestrian QB without the mobility. With the mobility, he is really, really good.

Ferentz has a tendency to get his best players hurt. "Steel on steel", ever heard that? It's a dangerous way to coach, IMHO

If he could take the knee brace off and try to roll out or take off and run, what a difference it would make. His pocket awareness isn't good enough right now to just stand there, hold on to the ball and wait for a receiver to get open.

Yup, it's all on the fullbacks, lol.........Is this Gervase's dad??? Maybe they should move your kid to FB???

No. If anything, I'm partial to Drake Kulick as I live in Muscatine. But you can't deny that inexperienced fullbacks and interior line mean the blocking will not be as good for the run game.

That he wears the brace is indicative. One doesn't want further damage and people oft don't know about or forget about the psychology after a knee injury. A real good brace isn't like what one buys at Dick's. It keeps things in place to prevent further tearing. Formerly he played like Farve. Now he looks like he's trying to be Brady. He isn't Brady by personality. The brace probably has some impact, not because of the brace but that he has to wear a brace.

CJ is brittle and injury-prone. Is clearing him to play at less than 100% (80%?) honestly the best thing for him and the team? He can't run..

You live in Muscatine, eh??? Who were the 'experienced' fullbacks blocking for Greene? They had that 'experienced' stud ''sophomore' named Morse blocking for him.... lol.... Who the heck are the 'W' Knights' ??? The problems in the running game aren't entirely on the FB's and the line....There are multiple 'issues' with the running game, and some of them are the play calling and CJ's 'audibles'.....

Right!!! These 'un-talented' losers won 12 games in a row last year, lol.......there is NO talent in the state of Iowa, so we should move our campus somewhere else, LOL...'Inept' coaching??? Well feel free to apply for the job, there Homer, lol.............

What the hell are you talking about? He was the Heisman favorite this year, lol.... I tried and tried and tried to explain CJ and last years team to you folks, but you wouldn't listen. So just quit crying and root the Hawks on!!!

Yes, Indeed

Right. So blocking in the line and fullbacks missing their blocks have nothing to do with the running game? Got it. It is somewhat on CJ for the audibles, but he doesn't audible every play to the point that in our losses we've averaged only 1.6 yards per carry. I think our play calling is consistent (not good but consistent), so why the variance between ypc in our losses (1.6 ypc) and wins (5.6 ypc)? Were Rutgers/ISU/Miami really that much worse than NW/NDSU? Or was it inexperience and not working together (which means they should get better as the season progresses)?

Oh, and the "W" Knights are the Wartburg Knights.
