The last thing Miami needed to do was bring in Steve Nash. Their strength the last two seasons has been terrific perimeter defense, bringing in Nash negates that right away. Miami also loves to trap all over the court, it's hard to try when you have as poor of defensive player as Nash on the court. Also, their best offense is running everything through LeBron like they started doing at the end of the playoffs. Why bring in another player to take the ball out of the hands of the best player in the league?

Because Nash is a better ball handler. Having the ball in Nash' hands could facilitate a lot of movement. Getting the ball to Lebron and Wade in space would be pretty nice. Also, Nash is a hell of a shooter. I do get your point about defense though. Chalmers isn't really anything to write home about defensively though.

Allen, and other players at the end of their career are really, along with young not very good players, are really the only guys the Heat can sign because of the big 3 contracts. They are banking on aging veterans like Allen wanting to come try and win a championship with them. The danger in that is that the aging veterans either get hurt or their game drops off dramatically. Allen though should be good for a least a couple threes a night. If he was tired of taking a back seat to players in Boston though, it isn't going to change in Miami.

I'm just curious about the motivations of the debate I'm reading in this thread. Any of you, who haven't already, care to name your favorite pro teams and why?

the bulls because I an from Chicago. I also have always liked any team durant was on because I liked watching him in college and think his character is great and he does a lot for the community. And I like deron Williams a lot, was a jazz fan for a while because of him and how he was overlooked for a while.
