Isn't that what teams are supposed to do? Try to get the best players to win...if it were your team I bet you wouldn't be complaining. I know I would want to play with the best.

The Heat winning a championship now to me will never equate to the Jordan era with the Bulls. They had one or two stars, not a whole slew running to sign up. They did it on their own with what they had.

As much as I don't like Miami...can't say that I blame him. He's been nearly traded at the deadline the past couple of years. Then he comes off the bench in favor of a 3rd year player. Plus, he couldn't stand Rondo.

True, a teams job is to find the best players and construct a winning team around them. If it were my team, I wouldn't be complaining, you're right. But, sooner or later, a disparity can be made, and everyone will want to go there, just creating a dynasty.

Which is not a bad thing, just kinda annoying IMO.

Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, Harper.

The end.

Because Dennis Rodman and Scottie Pippen were nobodys. Toni Kukoc also had a 6th man of the year in there...

Edit: Travisam beat me to it. Haters will be haters. I'm a Bulls fan btw

With his history, and his situation, I can't really blame him either. I just wonder if this is going to become a trend. I am good, I am not happy with my current team, I am going to the heat.

My apologies, I did not mean to say those players were nobodies. Rather saying that Pippen and Jordan were 2 players that a team would have as their focal point to build around is all. Pippen, Rodman, Harper were all phenomenal, but Jordan and Pippen were on a different level IMO.

I am a bulls fan as well, from Chicago. I actually was apathetic towards the heat until now, because I can see the trend coming.

I catch your Tokyo Drift. Just, I hope this doesn't become a dynasty based on recruitment of players, It is the nature of the business, but it is a little unfair, but I can respect that from the business side of things.

How is taking a massive pay cut, which Ray Allen will, a business move? It's a 100% pure basketball move. He's a hall of famer who wants a ring. He feels that playing for the Heat gives him the best chance. How in any way whatsoever is that a business move?

I was referring to the nature of the NBA as a whole, as well as the MLB, NCAA, any sport. Certain teams have certain advantages in recruiting due to varying factors. Like in College, whether it be weather, or bigger name programs, you will find kids choosing schools they know. Notre Dame has such a large following, rich history and they have their own channel in Illinois (5) for their games, huge publicity (their advantage)

Some teams have more money, and better players to draw other players in, which is in fact a grand business move for the securing the future, but it also kinda kicks the other little guys farther out the picture. But, hey, that is the business and that is the way it will be regardless of any disparity, and I can live with it.

But, It makes me respect and root for the underdogs more when I see them make it to the top. When teams that don't have certain advantages as some of the others rise, it is poetic passion and pumps me up.

Wow! That's all I can say about this.

Sadly to say Allen is over the hill and this really isn't a big pickup for the Heat. What exactly did he do this last year to set the world on fire?

Did you not read the first few responses in the thread? Allen will get a WHOLE bunch of wide open looks. It's not like he'll have to do any driving, they've got James n Wade for that. He's gonna be a 3 point specialist n a great clutch FT for them. It's a huge pick up that solidifies them to be the favorite next year in the East.

Did Kukoc, Harper and Rodman really just get compared to say....Bosh and Allen. The latter are hall of famers, the others were solid role players. And yes I know Rodman was a great rebounder...who couldn't make a layup.
