My list takes into account what the coaches have accomplished as head coaches in their careers:
1. Paterno (one of the top 5 coaches all-time; he has to be #1).
2. Tressel (5 straight Big 10 titles and a national title; easy #2 choice).
3. Ferentz (certainly the best of the rest of the group, by a long shot).
4. Bielema (takes a lot of guff from Hawk fans, but he's been very successful).
5. Fitzgerald (Ferentz-lite; has done more with less than just about anybody).
6. Rodriguez (can't stand him, but he has had previous success).
7. Zook (one Rose Bowl appearance and a couple good years at Florida).
8. D'Antonio (he needs to take Sparty to some bigger bowl games).
9. Hope (too new to rate effectively).
10. Lynch (one good season, then downhill quickly).
11. Brewster (he's gone after this year; the guy is a joke).
