Random tweets don't equal 'reports'

Wrong. You don't see the posts I do delete..because they are removed.

I'm not talking about the BS "I heard our starting XXXX was seen doing lines of coke of a stippers stomach at the Lumber Yard" kind of stuff. I'm sure you are deleting tons of that stuff as you should be.

I'm saying that overall there is too much smoke to the contrary to think that DJK is going to be the only one to get caught up in this, and that you agree to some degree, which is why you are allowing some (at least as of right now) conversation on the matter.

I think everyone understans random tweets don't equal reports, and I think everyone undertands how the rumor game starts, and most of us understand how social media multiplies the telphone effect times a vagillion.

However most of us also understand that history has told us when the rumor mill is burning with this much ferocity some of it has come to pass. For example....

1) Lick getting canned
2) Mass departures from the bball team
3) Recruits asking out of thier LOI's
4) Weger leaving the team
5) DJK being off the team

Again I'm not sayin every rumor around here has had legs but the ones that have had this much momentum end up partially true more often than not.

Oh really. Interesting. Both channels 8 and 13 are now using internet social media such as facebook to report things like Hampton being a "former" player.

It's good to know that that a CyFan mod has enough time to step away from all the celebrations on his site to come over here and scold Jon.

Why not just make a forum for the "Rumors" going around? Unless it is absolutely silly nonsense being posted (like Stanzi was seen partying with the lochness monster) just let things fly in there. Like posts to tweets, media speculation, reports being posted by media outlets, etc. Keep the main boards open for general football discussion.

The rumor or speculation needs to have some substantive backing to it. Then it should not be a problem.

That way the the rumors can be proven either true, or they can die in that forum. The day a lawsuit comes out of a rumor on a sports message board will be the end of the internet itself. With as much stuff that as said, you would think you would hear a lot more about it and you would see many cases of it in the courts.
