They play at UCLA, at Penn State then home against us to finish the season on Black Friday. I could see them losing out without Raiola being out for the year. And yes, the backup QB was pretty bad. They are going to be a lot like us after losing Cade the last couple of years. Virtually no threat of a pass game at all. Focus on stopping the run (including the QB) and they will be bottled up. Defense is decent but I don't see it holding up with no support from their O. This injury just made them a lot easier to beat.

Your're probably right. Ask college QBs how much difference it makes between getting 10% of the snaps with the first team on any given week or 90% of the practice snaps. He'll be a different QB in 4 weeks and after getting 2 more games under his belt. Last night they didn't trust him throwing down the middle in a close game, but the one long pass he threw was a 30 yd sideline route on a rope and on target. And how is playing a team with a great RB and a QB that struggles to throw the ball any different than Iowa, a team that ranks what, 130th in passing? They also have a current TE who played quite a bit as a backup QB the previous 2 years, so they'll probably bring him back into the mix.
The other thing is NE has dramatically upgraded their special teams, and their pass defense is possibly the best in the nation -- they completely shut down USC's QB and held them 200 yds under their season total yards average. The Huskers don't have to score 35 pts to win a game anymore.

Not good. And, their O-Line struggles. They gave up 9 sacks to Minnesota. Having superiority on both lines is golden to KF. It may be a closer game than initially thought but looks like the type of game that we win, especially in November.

I'm not only because with having a kid like Raiola he sucks up all the oxygen. He's only a sophomore right? So having another stud recruit coming in looking to back him up for 3 yrs doesn't seem like something a good qb is going to want to do. I'm on too surprised anyway. Even if kids are getting paid they still want to play and not sit.

Jeff Sims, the Arizona St QB that rushed for over 200 yards in beating the Clones on Saturday, started his career at Georgia Tech. He started for 3 years then transferred to Nebby. Nebby brings in this thread's 5-star recruit and Sims jumps ship to ASU.
At ASU he's beat out by Sam Leavit, who transferred in from Michigan St. Leavit comes back but Sims stays with the program. Leavit gets injured and is out for the year and Sims gets his chance against ISU.

Along with Dunker's mauling, it reminds me of what may be my favorite play I've seen in person at a Hawk game, where Logan Jones gets a 15 yard penalty for blocking his guy into the Fox camera. It was right in front of me and we all went nuts. It's at the 8:50 mark.
