Quick Pitch To Wadley??

Does Iowa not have a quick pitch in their arsenal? Trying to think of ways to get Wadley to the outside and in a little space. Maybe run that a few times when successful then have the QB fake the quick pitch and roll out to the L to hit the TE or even fullback.

Yeah, I think Iowa ran that once and gave the other team 2 points as a result.

^^Well, ya have to know when and where to run it. ^^ You can't poo poo my question because they chose to run that from the 1 yrd line. I wouldn't run it there. In addition, the pitch has to be quicker than that one.

Sometimes that's my beef with the Iowa coaches. They just can't seem to get out of their way sometimes or do the complete opposite.

The proverbial kid you tell "Now, it's freezing out here, whatever you do, don't put your tongue on the metal pole." You then leave and what do they do, tongue = pole.

The pitch play is fine if our Off Line can reach their blocks, get a good seal block, etc but this team has not shown the ability to run wide. Wadley definitely has the speed to get outside but most times there are 5 or so defenders going right toward his first movement.

I was merely pointing out that we do and have seen the quick pitch. I wasn’t second guessing the call against PSU. I thought that it could’ve been a great call. The play/flow of the line is meant to suck the end down. Could’ve been a huge play for the Hawks in a tough spot. But since it didn’t work people second guess the coaches and question their ability. The past few days have reminded me why I left this place... especially after a guy wrencher or 2.
