1. With the 2010 Rose Bowl there for the taking why did you play for OT? (A championship staff would've tried to win the game).

2. How do you explain the repeated losses to heavy underdogs (please refrain from using "That's Just Football").

I would phrase question 1 like this... At OSU in 09, which calculation did you use when considering whether or not to go for it in regulation?

1- in regulation we have a 10% chance to win , a 5% chance to lose, and a 90% chance to tie. In ot we have a 50% chance to win and a 50% chance to lose. A 50% chance to win is better than a 10% chance to win so its a no brainer.

2- if we go for it in regulation we have a 5% chance to lose. If we don't go for it we have a 0% chance to lose. A 5% chance is greater than a 0% chance. Both calculations come to the same conclusion. .. no brainer.

EDIT. I forgot the 3rd and most likely calculation he might have used.

3- if we go for it we have a 10% chance of scoring and a 90% chance of not scoring. Once again a no brainer.

Afterwards I would probably tell him the proper way to calculate the odds and watch his head spin.

What have you got against scoring points?
Do beer companies pay you on the side for keep the scores so close? Because they know close scores make for stressful game watching, causing viewers to drink more.
