Put the brakes on a bit

My only issue with this situation is that somehow Marcus Coker is punished for something he presumably didn't do. Some say that, "well maybe he did do something". Well then the burden is not on Marcus Coker to exonerate himself of charges, it's on the alleged victim to prove such a case, yet somehow Marcus is being presumed guilty on certain levels. I'm not saying this to minimize domestic violence or any type of physical assault, but for people to say things like, "we don't know if he's innocent, etc..." Well I think Marcus deserves the benefit of the doubt here unless there was/is direct evidence against him. I know for a fact if there was an assault, any type of injury, marks, etc., would require a mandatory arrest for Marcus. That obviously did not happen, so I ask why was he even suspended?

That's what I was getting to. Was this a "judgement call" or were there procedural rules(say a student-athlete must disclose if he has knowledge that the police are investigating him or there are allegations of sexual misconduct against him.)that he violated(the alleged incident happened on 10/30 yet he played games after that)some notification rule and he was suspended when the University found out that there had been allegations against him. I don't know. I just want to know if the AD made a judgement call or if the University has rules that demand a suspension in cases like this, and where/what is that rule.

I can understand Marcus's decision to leave. The taint of certain accusations, whether guilty or proven innocent of such speculation are Never forgotten by most.....

Might as well leave the fishbowl behind, and get on with life somewhere else without the perceived blemish of a pariah.....

The end times are upon us, the battle between academics and athletics has begun....grab some popcorn ya'll in one corner sneaky sally mason, in the other the honorable duo of barta and ferentz.

In case you're wondering who pushed Sally Mason's hand, it was Cedric Everson and Pierre Pierce. I think most colleges have a three strikes rule about coddling rapists, and she wasn't going to play with fire.
