Iowa 42 - purdue 17. Purdue comes out flat after their tOSU win. JVB looks great and gives us a new sense of hope for Nebby. Our defense gets two picks, Prater returns one for a TD.

I agree with your statement that Iowa fans travel well wholeheartedly, but the fact that Iowa lost to Minnesota will keep them out of a bowl game...period, unless Iowa upsets Purdue or Nebraska (and yes, I would consider a win at Purdue as an upset). Assuming my prediction is correct and Iowa does not win another regular season game, they will be in a group of quite a few 6-6 bowl-eligible teams. Due to the BAD loss at Minnesota and Iowa State, I think the other teams will get the green-light ahead of the Hawkeyes to go to the bottom-tier bowl games. The last time this happened to a similar Hawkeye team was in 2007. They were 6-5 on a 3 game win-streak heading into the Western Michigan game and we all know how that ended. And let's face it, the 2007 Western Michigan team would kick the crap out of the Gophers of 2010 and 2011. Sorry to sound like Debbie-downer here, but the Koolaid got a little stale for me early this year. And by the way, as a former Herky, I F'ING HATE CY!
 
Purdue is only averaging 23 points against the Big 10 this season. In the likely scenario that this game becomes a shootout, I like our offense against their offense.

Coker will pass out on the field in exhaustion, McCall will pull on his helmet and buckle his chin strap but Captain Kirk will run over and put in Rodgers to pass block. A large mushroom cloud is seen to the west in West Layfette, a sudden blast of energy surges through the stadium. The public address system announces that there has been a tragedy in Iowa, Hawkeye nation has gone nuclear. Kirk is escorted from the field in handcuffs, and is tried as a terrorist promptly. What remains of Iowa is now considered the Clown state and Iowa is removed from the B1G quicker than Penn St.

Here is my real prediction, we win in a close game...McNutt catches the game winner late in the 4th, his second of the day and a 134 total yards. Hawks win 28-27.

More likely: 4-4 tie in regulation, each team running out of its endzone twice for safeties, trying desperately not to lose. Purdue wins it on a 65-yard field goal in 2nd OT, after being backed up by multiple personal fouls and a flagrant uniform violation.
 
good front 4? good front 4's don't give up 200+ yards and 11ypc against big ten competition.

Iowa gets on a roll and goes into Lincoln with a mission as MSU loses at Northwestern too...makes things exciting.
 
Sorry but it looks like ground hog day .... the team falls into the Ferentz end of season black holes which has been more of the norm and not the exception. Hawks are going the wrong direction and Purdue is on top of the world since they beat the giant OSU so they have no fear and play with confidence. Purdue 33 Hawks 20 Another sad day!
 
Plain and simple, we always play like crap there. With the team we have this year I don't expect that to change.

I predicted 0-3 the rest of the season because there's no reason to expect Iowa to win, especially on the road. They don't do anything consistently, so there's no reason to expect they can take a lead or hold onto a win. Can they win? Sure, I wouldn't bet $5 on it though.
