That is brutal. We looked tired in the 2nd half and it isn't an excuse just what I saw. We fought but just didn't have it for a full game like we did Saturday. Would have been nice if Basabe would have made the trip. But I digress.

I think you have to give Purdue some credit for rebounding in the 2nd half as though Painter was holding their family members hostage.

No doubt they killed us on the glass and like I said they deserve the credit. But, I was worried about fatigue coming into this after beating Michigan's a$$ for 40 minutes on Saturday and making the roady to Purdue on Tuesday. It is just too bad we couldn't have got them at home because this isn't a team that should have swept us.

I have to believe the rebounding will improve once Fran gets some more size on this team. Woodbury & Meyer should be a big help. Lack of size really hurts - even if we have position for the rebound, the other teams are often going over the top of our guys for tip ins. Too many opportunities to tip the ball and get it back up on the rim. Very seldom does this team get a clean defensive rebound without the ball getting tipped around a lot.

Missed free throws (especially in the 1st half) kept us from winning this game. If we make our 1st half throws we build a big enough lead to take them completely out of it.

I agree. I think the rebounding would have been better tonight if Basabe would have played. Its tough when your starting center plays 7 mins, has 4 fouls, 1 point, and 2 rebs.
They just need some more size down low, and its coming. McCabe fights but he is easy to get over if the other guy has any length and White just isnt that strong yet. Help os coming, but they got beat up down low tonight.

Agreed #1 needs to find the white courtesy phone and check in.

Lots of things contributed to the loss. Purdue's heart and desire, our fatigue, missed free throws, and Basabe disappearing again were all huge factors. Seriously, WTF is wrong with Mel?

I seriously question if Basabe will ever get his sh!t together at this point. How about start by wearing the same warm up as everyone else. Just little things like that pi$$es me off.

I'm happy to see us competing. I had this marked down as a loss. In the first half we got alot of the calls that easily could have gone PU's way. 2nd half we didn't get those calls. I WILL BE HAPPY WHEN WE GET A ROBBY HUMMEL type of player that you can always count on to get a basket and lean on for leadership.

did something happened to masabe over the summer? i wondered if he had a head injury.
the reason i ask that is because i also have head injury from car wreck . i spend 8 weeks in coma.i just wondered if thats the case for mel??

Wow. Purdue probably goes 2-6 in that stretch. Good thing for them they beat us twice as they will need those wins badly to have a shot at an at-large bid in March.

I can see White being a Hummel type in his JR-SR years.

You are making a strong early case for oddest poster of 2012.

This post makes me think your car wreck was just last week.

I am so disappointed in Fran. Why wasn't he shucking some chairs across the floor? WTF was he thinking???

Yea, just angry words and mostly hand-on-chin observation tonight.

Noticed the schoolmarm sitting right behind the bench with his wooden ruler, long skirt and bunched panties. Maybe that had something to do with Fran's relatively calm sideline demeanor and maintaining composure.

(I Hadn't noticed GB when TV shot the bench during games, let alone on road trips. Not sure if that's the norm or intentional, to assure mama Jimmy know the situation was being monitored.)

This. It seems like he just doesnt care that he isnt playing worth a crap. Seriously? 7 minutes in what at the time was the biggest game of the year. It seems like if he doesnt get a couple baskets before the first TV timeout you can pretty much guarantee he will be a non-factor the entire game.

Time to put this lineup out there to start the game:

Marble
Gatens
May
White
McCabe

Maybe coming off the bench will help Mel to bring some damn energy.
