PTL tryouts and info on Murphy and Moore

Good info, Spank. Thx for the link. 13 Hawks playing, huh? Counting the 3 walk-ons, we've got 14 on the roster right now. Wonder if that means Cartwright won't be playing or maybe one of the walk-ons?
 
Wow that would make us pretty deep if these two get on board. Hey stormin did you ever get a definite on the bench numbers(Total player number)? sounds like Moore could be a nice get, ( could still use another 4/5 type) but do we use a schollie?
 
I caught that also. I suspect that Cartwright might not be playing...disapointing from a fan standpoint,but he might have plans already for the summer.

We have a couple of schollys open this year,so if Moore can help,no harm in giving him a one-year scholly. Never know who might be around by next year at this time,which could mean another scholly open for next year.

I don't know if Moore is talking this year or next? He would be a soph coming in, not sure if he would be planning on getting his AA at Tyler first before transferring...

I still haven't heard the def. number on bench players for D-1 BB. I had always thought 13 scholly, 2 walk-on, but other walk-ons could practice w/ the team.
 
I doon't think there's a limit on walk-ons participating in your program, but there may be a conference rule on numbers who can travel, dress or sit on the bench.

I wouldn't be opposed to that at all as I've followed Malcolm's progress at Tyler and he has gotten himself on the radar of many high-major programs this past season.
 
He was a star at city high. good frame and athleticism. always was suprised he didn't go to a high major program but sounds like he could end up HERE!!
 
I'd really like both of them!! Man I'm getting stoked up and think we could compete!!! If Murphy,McCarty,Cartwright,Payne, can all be better than little lick(no cut on him). We can use Cully at the two along with Gatens,Marble,May,the new kid from kirk.Then have May,Gatens,McCabe,Marble?,Basabe at the three. Cole Basabe,Moore?, Archie Stokes,at the four/ all of those + Brommer and
Cougs in and out at the five, we should be able to compete and have alot of interchangable parts.

Awesome! We are going to get our shot at seeing Murphy play in PTL and hopefully get a shot at a walk-on spot.

I know a few of you haven't liked my skepticism regarding Murphy. However, if you go back and look at my comments, I kept saying let's wait until we see him playing against DI players before we pass judgment. Now we get that shot.

Nice to see that Moore has progressed. If he proves his value, I would love to see him on the team.

If Moore is a soph to be, he would be around for 3 years if offered a scholly.

I read on TOS that Cartright has a couple subjects to complete this summer. I assume he is completing them at Tyler CC.
 
Sorry about my spelling Was in a hurry, Carwrights jc coach was one of speraw's asst's just assuming that he had something to do with him coming,+ was seen with him (and Bowen) around town. I may be totally off.

Paris JC is two hours North of Tyler so I would doubt that he would finish his classes in Tyler. He could also complete his classes at Kirkwood in order to be on campus and play in the PTL.

The classes are online, so I would think location is a moot point...
