Prohm out at ISU

Saw his video announcement of the change on the news........does he always have that look & tone like I just ran over your dog .........please forgive me?

Won't be hard for his replacement to show improvement.

I know everyone is saying that Hoiberg can't end up back in Ames...I disagree. There is this thing called negotiating...it helps get two parties to agree to compromise.

Hoiberg is a stand up guy...and I know Nebraska loves him...but if he said he wanted to go back home...well...I think they would figure it out. It might cost ISU $1 Million a year for 10 years...but it can be done.

Never underestimate Pollard to try to find a way to get Hilton Magic back. He has a warehouse full of Hilton Magic marketing materials, shirts, sweatshirts, & hats he can't giveaway right now.

There is no guarantee that Fred could recreate Hoiberg Magic in Hilton and I'm guessing he knows that. He didn't do so well in the NBA and he hasn't done much in Lincoln. It seems he is increasing his talent in Lincoln, brick by brick like Fran had to do, and, if I were him, I'd want to finish the job there and prove myself.

Some say he might want to go home and I understand he went to Ames HS, etc., etc. But, wasn't he born in Lincoln? Didn't his parents both graduate from Nebraska? Wasn't his grandfather mayor of Lincoln or something like that?

They didn't mess around hiring some former assistant of theirs that's been UNLV. I've never heard of him before. So how many kids jump in the portal? My guess is he'll be busy scanning it for new kids himself

Hoiberg enjoyed being one of the first to capitalize on the transfer movement while at ISU. That movement is now a very crowded space.

The ISU hire makes a lot of sense on several fronts including financially. Pollard has already stated he needed to be "very creative" in putting together his offer due to the impact of Covid on budgets. They were not going to go out and spend big $$ on a buyout because they can't. Winning trumps everything when it comes to building success and ISU has a long ways to go on that front but this isn't a bad hire in my mind.
