Do they even have to really recruit that hard at Alabama, no. He's got a cushy gig.
 
The way I saw it he really didn't have much of a choice because if they kept Hurts in the second half they would have been run off the field. The way it sounded the first practices of the semifinal game Hurts wasn't practicing anyway so they knew what to expect.

Sure, because Saban has no problem lying to recruits or players. I, for one, will be shocked if Hurts shows up for Spring ball.

You have to remember, given the NCAAs penchant for pandering to South/Southeast area programs, Kiffin will get the kid a waiver.

I will say, the kid has handled himself with class post-game interview-wise.

Ferentz started Kyle McCann for 3 seasons . I’m thinking Saban would have pulled the trigger quicker on Brad Banks . I still can’t believe Banks and Chandler only started their senior years

Saban is a very good coach, but IMO he's not the best-ever NCAA coach.
That said, he is by far THE BEST recruiter in NCAA history.
Recruiting stars matter very little when you're talking 1-2-3-4 stars...but when you get a 5-star kid, 9 times out of 10 that means you have the makings of a true game-changer.
Saban is loaded to the gills with game changers.
That sure was one helluva game!

Chandler was a better pocket passer . Was there really a QB competition ? Knowing how ferentz operates doubt it .

Don't talk smack about Nick. He got outclassed by O'Keefe in his last game at LSU, but aside from that, the only way Nick has lost games is when the opposition has some all world quarterback or Nick's team is depleted from injuries. Nick's teams just go out there and play smart, classy and hard nosed football. Maybe you can say Bear is better than Nick, but other than that, you can't name a coach anywhere near Nick's caliber.

And nowhere in my statement did I say Chandler should have started over Banks . I said I can’t believe they only started one year . Two of the best Qb’s to play for Ferentz . Nothing Ferentz could have done .

Do you remember how bad they were when they hired him? That’s why they hired him. Yes you have to recruit your ass off . The players go there to play for him and to be prepared for the next level not the school. Whether his players turn out to be good pros is another topic .

Chandler was a better pocket passer? Have you even looked at their respective stats? Do you know why neither Banks nor Chandler started before their senior seasons? I'm guessing that's an emphatic, "No".

I'm an Astros fan. I love the Warriors, too. My favorite college basketball teams are Duke, Kentucky, UNC and Kansas.
