Pretenders?

Every basketball player in the history of basketball disappears for stretches. And we've already proved everything that we need to prove to the selection committee. All we need now is enough wins. For a 1 seed that is.

By having them in our conference so they can win every game they play except the two where they got screwed by the reds.

so in other words the op is saying, not only is Iowa a pretender so is Kansas, Oklahoma, North Carolina, Maryland, MSU, Villanova. Did I forget any?

Pretenders is pretty ridiculous question to ask. I don't care if it was Hawknick or Jon Miller or anyone in between.

Indiana played a really good game (of course they would after the PSU embarrassment) and whatever Iowa's game is ranked from "meh" to "good" the fact is if they make their FTs they win the game.

FTs is this team's weakness.

Not jumping off the ship, but if your going to be on the #1 seed line...you better toughen up. Poor FT, again, Uthoff disappears, bench nothing, big concerns in my mind. Number 1 seeded teams do not do this in their 2 biggest games of the year.

Heya Steve....which 'pretender' do you prefer? ;)

Oh I see, you don't get ****** after Iowa losses. After a loss you immediately reflect on how great Iowa has been all year. Well good for you, I was mad as hell and I feel like crap after an Iowa loss. But unlike loess I went to bed, which I agree with you he should have done as well.

Sure I was upset Kelley but honestly at no point after did I feel Iowa was a pretender or choked in all its biggest game. i seemed to remember some very big games that got us this high ranking and the #1 seed projection to date.

Who is saying Iowa's a number 1 seed? Man talk about putting the cart in front of the horse. How the hell can't someone simple enjoy all the GREAT things they have done already. Tied for first in the conference with every game having meaning. I'm incredible excited to be in this race and can't wait to see what's gonna happen next. I would have been happy to have just MADE the tournament! All Iowa's goals are within reach. Big regular championship, tourney bye, and excellent seeding in the dance. Number 1 seed!? That's the equivalent of the football team's National Championship dream. If it happens great, but I'm enjoying the ride. Road losses to Indiana and Maryland are hardly badges of shame.

Pretty much everyone has (or had before that loss) has us as a number 1 seed.

How was this game any bigger than winning at Purdue or Michigan State? It is disappointing I agree, but they ended up going 2-2 in their toughest road games on the year in the Big Ten. They have themselves set up pretty well going down the stretch
I agree with this. I believe if you split on the road and take care of business at home, you should be in a position to win the conference. Iowa is in positiom to do better than that and are right where they want to be.

GO HAWKS!!!

Steve, you're a genius again.

Take one look at the Wisky game tonight and say no more.

To ensure themselves a 'lock down' #1 seed in the BTT or NCAAs, Iowa needs to take a game like this.

And for good measure, defeat, say a Minnesota, by about 35+ points tomorrow.

Can't strut in the rarefied air if you're gonna puss-out by being happy with "close is OK' on the road against top level talent.

Iowa's done playing games like that. They already took quite a few off them to position themselves for a number 1 seed if they go 5-1 down the stretch.

The game @ OSU has me nervous. We also have to go to Michigan and have Wisky at home. Not out of the woods yet.

Oh, and Indy come to CHA. I make that four highly intensive games yet.

After starting 7-0 Iowa has now lost 2/5. Wisconsin is really on fire and scary as heck having won 7 in a row and beating IU, Maryland, and MSU. Two teams Iowa failed to beat. Indiana has a game on Iowa now but fortunately play them again. Wisconsin, at OSU, Indiana, and @Michigan are 4 extremely losable games. I don't know if Iowa is a pretender because not sure they were ever a contender. They are going to have to win out from here on out to win it outright otherwise best they may do is share it.

So, many are contending Iowa is pretend. I contend you're all pretending and you contend Iowa will contend without pretending. Comprehend?
