Tough for me to find a loss. 13-0.

Road games at Lames (Historically doesn't seem to benefit the clowns), Piscataway, Madison, USC, and Lincoln is super favorable, given we get the Pedos and Ducks at home. LA is the most concerning trip, but if the Hawks are rolling, we might have an audience that looks more like a neutral site.

Favorably placed byes as well. I've gotta think, the more wins the Hawks string together, the more momentum they build. And if the Hawks are ranked, we're getting two or even three 3pm or even night games at Kinnick back-to-back for the Pedo State-Goophers-Oregon stretch. If the Hawks find themselves rolling and ranked in October, it could be a special season.

The offense took a big step in the right direction last year, and it's more likely than not that defense corrects after a down year.

8-4 regular season. Losses to ISU, Wisconsin, Penn State, Oregon. Hawks always lose one and usually two that they shouldn't. Could just as easily be 7-5 dropping one to Minnesota as well.

In Phil I trust. This is a time for unbridled optimism (some may call it a cry for help).
Linebackers I could see it being ok since the incoming kids had Higgins, Jackson, Fisher, Castro in the room as examples and practice competition. The current incoming DBs didn’t really have that aside from DeJean and he wasn’t here very long.

I know the Lutmers from up here, his dad is an absolute stand up guy, really good coach, not one to ever brag about his kid in any way…he’s saying Zach is making his way up in the mix and I actually believe that coming from him. Other guys I know from CL in my coaching/officiating circle who know more than me are saying the same thing. I hope it’s true. I coached baseball against his teams since my kid was in 3rd grade (senior this year) and Zach is a great kid who goes 100%, 100% of the time. Would not surprise me a bit if he had success. He’s got the same attitude etc as DeJean but without the freak athleticism. But there aren’t a whole lot of human beings on this planet without DeJean’s athleticism.

When is the last time Iowa came into the season with a legitimate starting QB and a competent OC? Since KOK and Stanzi were around?

I don't have trouble seeing 10 wins in that schedule even without my black and gold colored glasses. Hawks will be a tough out. We split with Oregon and PSU and stub our toe somewhere on the road. 10-2

CJB made up for a pretty bad OC. Davis might have known some shit, but he didn't fit in the Big Ten at all.

I would love to have seen what CJ could've done with Lester at the wheel and the RBs we had at that time.
