Power 5 schools that have more wins then Iowa the last 5 yrs

The record looks nice and all but it still doesn't feel like Iowa has won anything in those 5 years. Most of those schools on the list have won a championship of some sort or at least has a playoff appearance or has won a NY6 bowl game. At first glance I think Michigan is the only other one that doesn't have any of those things either.

Normally I'm ok with winning seasons and bowl games but every once in a while I'd like to see Iowa contend for the BTC and at some point reach the playoffs. It felt like Iowa missed the boat this year, it seems like this team should have accomplished more.

They have a West division championship, a Pinstripe Bowl championship, and a Outhouse Bowl Championship during that span.

Iowa contended for a B1G championship in 2015. We are talking about 5 years here. So, Iowa checks that box. Also, glance again because Wisky hasn't won any championships in that time. LSU hasn't won any championships in that time.Michigan as you stated, hasn't won a championship in that time. We are talking about the elite of elite programs here. Iowa does not stack up to that and I don't think anyone is selling that. We are not CFB royalty and no one is saying we are. I want more tangible things too tho - I expect Iowa to be in the thick of things next season....wanna know why? Cause we're always gonna be good and competitive as long as KF is our coach and his program culture is in place.

I agree. I'm amazed that Iowa hasn't won more conference championships or competed in a national championship game. What a great stat to find by the OP.

In addition to the championships Iowa has won over than time period they also were runner-up in the Rose Bowl and Outhouse Bowl.

Just think how many wins we would have with a competent offense.

I bet if you go back and were honest, there are some of the losses there due to turnovers and not getting defensive stops when we had the lead. Probably more than you think right now. Special teams maye have come into play in one or two also.

But at least both Wisconsin and LSU have won a NY6 bowl game during that time and LSU will be in the playoffs this year regardless of how they do in the SEC game.

I'm not asking to be an elite program, I know the limitations that we have. But every once in a while Iowa gives us something to get really excited about and I feel this should have been the year for it.

yeah yeah yeah...and they won the Heroes trophy, the pig trophy, and Cy Hawk this year.

We got a stuffed trophy case and I'm still bitching.

And there is the rub. If we had a competent offense we wouldnt have to worry as much about turnovers and defensive stops and special teams. If we are up by 21 and fumble in the 4th. Not a big deal. If we are up by 4 and fumble in the 4th. A big deal.

We are what our BIG 5 year record says we are except when we play the lead dogs.............

WI 1-4
MI 1-1
PSU 0-4
tOSU 1-0

If my math is correct that makes 3-9 vs the so called lead dogs.

P.S. We could throw in MSU and NW (2-5) but that wouldn't help the outcome.

Actually we are what are record says we are, 46-19 with the 10th most wins of any P5 team over the last 5 years.

What do you mean one?

There should have been at least three.

I’ll cherry pick your cherry pick and let’s just do OSU and Michigan.

PS: careful, if you throw a couple of more teams beyond MSU and NW you’ll get to the real record

There ya go, you're catching on........it's called spinning.

The facts say we aren't running with the big dogs in the last 5 years because we haven't won games against some of the better competition. Doesn't necessarily this season was not good just means we're not playing for anything too substantial again at this point.
