Can someone (seriously) tell me why there are a dozen Iowa Highway Patrol cars parked outside of Kinnick on game days?

Highway Patrol runs security for the coaching staff. You see them on the field with the Captain and I suspect they give him an escort home to make sure he's not tailed and that some lunatic pissed off about a play call on 3rd and 8 doesn't take a pot shot at him.

My hot take is Iowa shouldn't schedule another P5 program when they annually play 10 which is 2 more than most SEC teams and 1 more than most everyone else. Why should Iowa play a tougher schedule than everyone else?

I go to every home game and there definitely aren't 12 ISP cars outside the stadium. There are a ton of cop cars split between ISP, IC police, county sheriff, etc...but no way are there a dozen troopers there.

I wish we'd get rid of the cartoon character we have for a mascot and get a real Hawkeye, as in The Last of the Mohicans.

I witnessed their attempt at a real Hawk this past football season. When IC Liberty played IC High in the first HS football game in Kinnick in like 43 years, the UofI rapter program before the game started let a Hawk fly a loop in the stadium as practice as they were training it.

They said the Hawk would fly from the NW corner and do a loop in the stadium and come back to land at the trainer in the NW stadium. Stated for the fans to be quiet and not touch the Hawk if it were to land near them for some reason, they would come and retrieve it. Well, they let the Hawk go and it gracefully glided thru the air making a huge loop to the other side and winged gracefully glided its way to the SE and glided back around the west side back to its original spot it took off, only to glide smack dab head first into the clear window in the north endzone club seats.

No shit.

OK....ISP police, sherrif....not sure why all the heat in one place? Does ISUx have such a presence?
