This sort of thread seems to be the norm on this site, to a degree, lately. It doesn't take much effort to pick apart certain posts that aren't in a state of perfection, for whatever reason (nothing against herbyhawk). But many self appointed message board guru's take it upon themselves to point out the obvious, and then relish in their supreme insight at pointing out the obvious. And then, as if that wan't enough, more add to this until the thread becomes devoid of any point whatsoever, even if the OP had something legitimate to discuss in the first place.
There is nothing wrong with asking for clarification or offering advice to posters, but constantly ganging up an every stupid trivial thing doesn't prove anything. And, honestly, it's embarrassing. Because what you might end up with is a community of self congratulating trolls.
Jon puts lots of hard work into this site, and there is so much detailed information in his articles alone that would be worth paying for. My suggestion, for what it's worth, is when you feel the need to rag on the obvious, and try to diminish something that is already compromised, take the higher ground.
