I saw a list of possible graduate transfers for the 2016-17 basketball season as follows:

Canyon Barry 6-6/205-210 SG/SF Colorado Springs, CO (College of Charleston)
Jordan Price 6-5/220 SG Decatur, GA (La Salle/Auburn)
Brian Bernardi 6-2/195 G Staten Island, NY (Hofstra/SMU)
Ryan Taylor 6-5/225-227 SF Indianapolis, IN (Marshall)
Robert Carter Jr. 6-9/235 F Thomasville, GA (Maryland/Georgia Tech)
Aaron Valdes 6-5/190 SG Whittier, CA (Hawai'i)
Jimmy Hall 6-8/235-240 PF Brooklyn, NY (Kent State/Hofstra)
R.J. White 6-8/280 PF/C Frisco, TX (UNC-Greensboro)
Jaron Blossomgame 6-7/220 PF/SF Alpharetta, GA (Clemson)
Jalen Reynolds 6-9/6-10/235 PF Detroit, MI (Xavier)
Darrell Bowie 6-7/220 W Milwaukee, WI (Northern Illinois)

I would like to see Iowa bring all on campus for a visit and see who would be interested in immediate playing time.

Any thoughts?

I think we'd be in the market for a PG for sure, but I'm sure we'd take a really good player if available.

My thought is that the grad transfer rule is stupid and we should take no part in it.

Yep. Unless 2 people leave that aren't seniors we aren't adding anymore people in this class because Fran says the next one goes to Baer. However I think if a player that is good enough says he really wants to play here Fran will figure out something

I also hate this transfer rule. But it's there. As others have said...Baer gets the first scholarship. I don't see any minutes available for a transfer. We have a roster full of talented players. And explaining to a couple of them that they have to sit and wait another year because we "rented" a 1 year player may be tough to accept...would be for me. And finally as said in the thread referencing the interview Fran did..."We have no time for knuckleheads."

No way we turn down a good point guard or center but otherwise I don't see it. Overloaded at P/F- S/G- Sm/F- no need for these positions.

I totally disagree. Does next year's team with a 1 year transfer have more upside than a veteran team the next 2 or 3 years? I'm thinking big picture and so does Fran IMO. We aren't Iowa State.

Looking down the list of players, my heart skipped a beat when I saw David Bowie ,err, Darrell Bowie. I was thinking the song " Let's dance".

Taking a high level PG would give us way more upside for next year. I don't see any way it'd hurt us for the next 2 or 3 years either

Although the rule may be stupid it would be equally stupid for us to not take advantage of it if it can help us.

We don't make the rules here.
Sorry, I can't agree. I think bringing a single year transfer in would be more disruptive than helpful. Yes, I know the mayor made it work.
