Poor Yankees

funny how butthurt they are. Also funny how butthurt everyone on the tv is for them too. They are not the first team to have a blown call go against them. Until they can score some runs it doesnt matter. Also love how Yankee fans boo after every strike out. hahaha

As a cubs fan, I generally don't have much interest in the MLB playoffs, however, i pay enough attention to watch the Yankees lose and chuckle happily when they do.

Funny how cub fans are happy when the Yankees lose, is it just because you never get to watch your team during this time of the year? You sound like an ISU fan.

If the blown call in the first game is called correctly, the game is over before extras and the Yankees win and Jeter isn't hurt.

The blown call in the second game, one of the worst ever imo, makes it 3-0 going into the bottom of the 8th instead of 1-0. In baseball that is a big difference.

1. ISU is better than Iowa.

2. none of those calls give the yankees a win. The second game was a horrible call but it was also a give wrapped out on a bone head move.

I never said anything about who is better between Iowa and ISU, I simply compared fanbases. Cub fans are always excited about their team to begin the year and then start hating on other teams when they realize they won't end up in the postseason. ISU fans are always excited in the same way, and then start hating on Iowa when Iowa ends up having a better year despite losing to ISU.

The call in the first game definitely cost the Yankees a win. That call cost a run that would have scored on that play and therefore the game would not have gone into extra innings and the yankees would have won.

You have no idea if the game would have stayed the same other than just that run. Tigers gave the yankees many chances and they didnt win. Those types of calls happen to everyone.

Look on the bright side. The pinstripers get to pay A-Rod 115 million over the next five years, and their fans get to enjoy another half decade of his contributions at the plate.

I wish there was a dislike button for your post. One of the worst calls ever? I don't like to do this, but...LOL. It wasn't nearly as bad as the infield fly call where there was a good 5 seconds to make the right call. The ump on the bad call in the second game of the Yankees/Tigers series had to make a judgment call on the spot. Was it a bad call? Yes. Was it one of the worst calls ever? Not even close. The Yankees were already losing at that point so it wasn't as if it cost them the lead.

As far as game 1 what bad call are you even referring to? The Yankees were losing 4-0 going into the bottom of the ninth inning so it's safe to say a bad call did not lose them that game. You sound like the Cyclone fans who were blaming the refs for their blowout loss to Texas last season.

Game one they had what I thought was a tie at first base with two outs and the bases loaded. So if they give it to the runner they they would have scored a run. Side note yankees had the bases loaded three times and nothing happened.

I do believe tie goes to the runner but thats what it was a tie so its not like he was safe by a step or two. It happens to every team.

Any time a call that obvious is missed and two runs then score as a result (in a 1-0 game before that), it is pretty bad. Playing for three is a lot different than playing for 1.

The first game early on, bases were loaded with two outs and robinson cano beat out a groundball that would have scored a run. The yankees tied it up in the ninth 4-4, but would have won 5-4 with that run. Now, I understand that the way the game was played would have changed with that run on the scoreboard but a run is a run. Also, that would have left bases loaded with two outs. The Yankees could have scored again that inning. The way they are playing I doubt they would have, but you never know.

If this were any other team, you guys wouldn't even have started a thread like this. Its actually pretty funny witnessing how much people hate the Yankees lol.

So your saying game two would have been different if Yankees were only down by 1 in the later innings? Then you go on to say that the yankees would have won game one if they had scored that one extra run. You cant have it both ways. Maybe the tigers would have scored more runs because the yankees did. Maybe papa grande is pulled after the first home run. Point is it happens to every team only the people on the tv and the espn dont get all butt hurt for everyone. But they were sure butthurt for the yanks.
