Poor Yankees

So your saying game two would have been different if Yankees were only down by 1 in the later innings? Then you go on to say that the yankees would have won game one if they had scored that one extra run. You cant have it both ways. Maybe the tigers would have scored more runs because the yankees did. Maybe papa grande is pulled after the first home run. Point is it happens to every team only the people on the tv and the espn dont get all butt hurt for everyone. But they were sure butthurt for the yanks.

The point I am trying to make, is that both calls had a pretty big effect on each game. You can't argue with that. These games have been so close, that one run is huge. I said that if the yankees were to have gotten that run in the first game it would have changed the way the rest of the game was played. Okay, that doesn't mean they would have won but it wouldn't have hurt their chances.

This is magnificently laffy. It should be a sticky.
Nice work up in here, '912.

It changes the way both teams play. Papa Grande had a huge leash because of the four runs. He has been awful. I dont think the pitching would have been the same. Two gift wrapped homeruns from a closer who is falling apart doesnt happen very often in the playoffs.

As for game two the yankees couldnt score soooo. Its really hard to say that they would have scored if they got that out.

As I said twice already, I know that both teams would have played differently from there on out. It would have just made the odds a bit better for the Yanks. The second game, I know they didn't score. Its the fact that if you are playing for one run, it is a lot easier than playing for 3.

Laughable how people are jealous of the Yankees. Say what you will but facts are facts. They make enough money with their YES Network contract to more then pay their payroll. They play within the rules of the league. They pay their luxury tax to the rest of the teams who choose not to spend it. There were teams that spent more this year...GO YANKEES.

They sure do. They buy the superstars who become free agents who's teams cannot afford to pay luxury taxes. Not against the rules, but definitely a luxury that most teams cannot afford to do. While I applaud their spend the money to win games mentality I also love to see them fail for that same reason. Maybe next year they can buy their championship with a $250 Million dollar payroll, since they couldn't do it this year with $200 Million.

They will be under the luxury tax threshold next year. The laughable thing about this is every owner of every major league team makes money!!!!! Some choose not to spend it...if I were a fan of their teams I would be ******. I have no trouble with people being jealous of the Yankees and the money they spend...it doesn't always pan out. However, I don't go on websites and wish ill on another professional franchise...oh well.

I do if its the yankees or te spartans. Also Young had more RBIS than the yankees whole team.

Until they sign Josh Hamilton or some other old, over the hill free agent.

I get it and the owners are making money, but you can't honestly tell me that the smaller market teams, like Milwaukee, could afford a $200 Million dollar salary. I'm with you, I'm glad they go out and try to buy the best team that money can buy and don't win. There's no excuse to have a payroll that large and win. They can buy the best talent, but they can't buy championships.

And let's be honest, how long do they stay under $200 million. I don't wish them ill at all, I just think it's hillarious when they come up short.

As a fan of the reigning WS Champion Cardinals, I am not jelly of your Yankees. It's just funny watch them fail time and again with their huge payroll. Really funny, actually. Jeter needs to get out of that city before they make him a loser too.

I can tell you with 100% certainty this is not true. For many, perhaps most, it's a breakeven-to-losing business on an operating basis; owners typically don't make money until they sell the franchise.
