Does he declare for the draft and forego his senior year at Iowa?

I've said this before, but it belongs here: I want ZERO NBA talk from him. Either he wants to come back and he comes back, or he doesn't and he goes. No "testing the waters". No "I'm not hiring an agent". No one believes that he'd get drafted this year, so it's just a dalliance. Either he commits to getting better in the offseason, or he goes. No more games.

Such a stupid take.

You don’t think going to NBA tryouts and going up against other potential NBA guys is getting better? Not one single player on Iowa’s team would care if he tests the process again. They’ll hope he comes back but no issue with him going through the process.

No, I don't, because it's foolish. No rational person could look at his performance last year and think, "Yeah, he's an NBA player." He doesn't need evaluation as an NBA player. He needs to learn how to play in Iowa's system and become a better overall player. The draft process is for showing out what you are. And it's a complete distraction to the school, which has to figure out whether they need to replace you or not. After the past year, entering the system is just dumb. Either stay and be a college player and play in this system, or go get your money. I honestly don't have a preference.

If Cook stays next year, his minutes should go down. I don't think you will be able to justly keep Nunge off the court. PMac will likely take most if not all of Baer's minutes as the primary backup at the 3 and I don't think Nunge is bulking up to play the 3. That ship has sailed. Not to mention Pemsl and Kriener also deserve court time and help our team when they're out there. It will be a log jam if he stays and I think we'll be worse for it. Part of the reason we were better this year was the tightened rotation.

If Tyler wants to eat Euro food, otherwise he better buckle up on his studies and enjoy what could be a fun ride next year.

I guarantee you HN is the last place a player would ever look on the internet and that they have no idea it even exists.

If it isn’t Instagram or Twitter they’ll never see it. Message boards are ancient technology and pretty much everyone here is 40+.

We are like the guy down the street with a mullet who goes to yard sales to buy VHS tapes. Trust me, TC or Bohannon will never see or hear a peep from us.
Do you have mullet? Still stuck in 80's?

You should really learn English before you give someone shit about his or her hair. Are you trying to make a funny in the style of an old timey telegraph message?

At least learn when to use “a” and “the,” for F’s sake. If you’ve had a head injury or you’re 4 years old that’s the only way you’re going to get a pass. Otherwise your joke backfired, Skippy.

When you’re trying to be funny it’s all in the delivery, and you failed miserably. Write your next one down in a notebook first, and practice it a few times before you hit post. At least ride your bike over to mom’s and have her proofread it first.

You’re welcome.

I don't get how some don't see how valuable Cook is to this team. Sure he has some holes in his game, but he is the biggest reason why we went into OT vs Tennessee. He was the only player on the court would could even come close to matching the athleticism of Tenn. and it seemed like when he came out and punch Tenn. back (figuratively speaking) to start the 2nd half, Tenn. wilted a bit.

He brings an explosiveness around the basket that no other player on the team has. When he displays this type of energy it seems to be contagious and the other players seem to react well to it.

Just wish he would develope an outside shot.

What's your end game in all this?

Being sarcastic at some of the dumb stuff here.

For anyone who watched yesterday it was T C who led the charge. Garza could do zip until Cook was fed.

We all could see he is undersized for his skill set. He adds a lot to this team

In overtime though it was the lack of team athleticism that led to the loss just like the 1st half.

Cook is a beast. He played terrible in the 1st half, that happens. He's not immune to it and no player is. I hope he comes back but expect him to test the waters and he should. That is a good thing - I think Joe W and Moss should too.

He was also the biggest reason we were down 25 in the 1H. He was atrocious. Dumb shots, turnovers, jogging back on defense.

It’s a complete distraction from school? As far as I know TC’s grades are fine and there’s were no issues last year when he went trough the process.

Look we all know TC probably isn’t an NBA guy, but the process can still be a memory he will have for the rest of his life. Working out with different NBA teams, talking to some of the best college players and learning from them seeing how they work, developing moves they have. Getting feedback from NBA personell. These are all good things.

Let me guess you think Iowa needs to recruit better? Here’s a hint, you aren’t going to recruit better if you tell guys with the talent of TC not to test the NBA process. You want to support these kids in their NBA pursuits not shoot them down.

The nba process is in the offseason and Iowa built their roster with the understanding this might be Cook’s last year. There is no issue with him testing the waters, if he returns we will gladly take him back.

The more guys that "test" the NBA waters for Iowa as a program the better for recruiting. The casual fan don't pay that close attention, but you best believe the kids do. Anyone with an opinion other than this doesn't really understand how it works. I think Joe W and maybe Garza totally should as well but for some reason I don't think they will - at least this season. Maybe next? It's a good thing and if it's an option afforded to you as a player I don't see 1 downside from it.
