I rag on the coaches just as much as everybody else does on this website. I can't help but notice the coaches that have been hired in the last 24 hours they are not your typical Ferentz type guys. O'Keefe is a Ferentz guy but these two coaches that have been brought on look and smell a whole lot different than the direction we have been headed in the recent years. I'm going to assume Brian has everything to do with these two hires and I like what it looks like at least early on.
You would be correct about these being "Brian's guys". I have been trying to tell people on here for years now that the only way to get the old man to change on offense was to put Brian in at OC. I have posts that go way back making this case, and of course da haters would come at me. Yet, like always I am right and da haters are just to busy doing da hating to have any kind of real vision on things. Brian is going to put HIS STAMP on this offense, and it starts with brining in his guys.
From the way NDSU confused the hell out of us in the running game, and then smashmouthed us in the fourth quarter, I'd say Brian liked what he saw. The did some really interesting things with their lead backs/guards that had our linebackers chasing the blocker as opposed to the ball. Very impressive stuff. Adding a few wrinkles to our blocking schemes just makes it that much more difficult to prepare for. I like the hires.
Unfortunately Iowa is the team that is usually confused on offense no less.
Like I noted above I think this is a step in the right direction. Good job Hawks
So KOK = QB
Copeland = WR
Polasek = OL
Who is coaching RB and special teams?
Is Brian to RB and Polasek to OL reflective of the fact that RB is a less demanding position to coach (easier to balance with OC duties), or reflective of the fact that they are looking to change philosophies along the OL?
