Please tell me this won't happen!!

So that one guy that transferred to that one school didn't win the starting job, so CJ would just disappear and never be heard from again? Seems like impeccable logic. BTW, what's Cody Sokol up to these days? I assume he's delivering for Pizza Hut somewhere, you know, since transfer QBs never work out and all.

Reading Comp 101

If he leaves, it only makes sense to go to FCS to play two years. If not, then he goes to another FBS school, sits out a year and has to compete with people who have been there for a one year starting job...which in many instances may go to someone younger who had been there and who will have more time in the future...or stay at Iowa, be one play away from being the starter next year and in all likelihood be the starter in 2016.

It makes no difference either way. If he stays, he'll still be handicapped by inferior talent as his supporting cast. That's the talent on the field and in the coaches box. We have NO RECRUITERS on staff. As long as that is allowed to continue, it won't matter who the QB is. Will it?

Sure he played… At the beginning of year when they were rotating QB's. It was widely suggested by many analysts during the spring and summer that Coker would waltz into town and take the starting spot and Bama would roll. But if a guy with his talent can't come in and take the starting job, then perhaps it's not as easy as some in here suggest. And I'm not saying there is no drop off from FBS to FCS; there certianly is. I think many are down playing the new offensive system angle. He won't walk onto campus as the starter. He'll have to compete for it. Which brings me back to my original post in this thread... He can go compete for a year, then be the starter for his senior year. What's the difference with what he has at Iowa? (And don't feed me the "Kurt don't play da bestest players" blah blah)

Why not?

This whole story is stale...to me, and a very large contingent of Hawk fans on msg boards, in parking lots, at game watch parties, at work places, in bars, etc...that after several games into the season, it was very apparent that CJB had the higher ceiling, quicker decision, and stronger arm, AND led to a much more enthusiastic team to watch...for whatever reason KF believes that JR gives the team a better chance "not to lose". To me that has not played out that great, but it is only 1 of several issues...making this probably one of the worse 8-4 or 7-5 seasons in a very long time in terms of watchability, enthusiasm and entertainment. Like I said, that is my opinion...I hope CJB stays just so we have something to look forward to (like the 2016 season, cause 2015 is looking like a similar/possibly worse product than this year).

Regardless, this daily argument and bickering is stale old and boring...it would be nice if in the future the OP would utilize CJ's name in the title so I can vet which threads I choose to purview easier and not see everyone's same entrenched stance in this story ad nauseam!

Yet you're still posting on the Football Forum. I think your camel's back is stronger than you think.

U been round here a while, homey ... have ya seen the general theme of RnR's posts?? (That's no knock on Rock, I'm right there with him.)

I've been ready for der KirkFer to move on since '08, when he forfeited to Pitt and had another coy toy with the NFL. The desire that he is not Iowa's coach gets stronger with each passing season for many reasons, mostly the annual inexplicable mismanagement of strategy:personnel and inexcusable losses when victory was there for the taking. January 2020 can not get here quickly enough, for me.

Yet through it all, I ain't goin any where away from this board, unless Jon says so.
1) Why would he do that and deprive everyone here of my keen observations, profound perspectives and informative, entertaining posts?
2) I'm a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and, like most good fans, WANT them to win every game.

There's no correlation between how "done we are with KirkFer" (not to mention that G.d.G.D.) and whether we post or not.

Rock on, Rock!

Oh, and, that whole CJ thing ... yea, he gone.

I actually think it did work out for Joe Flacco went from FBS school in Pittsburgh to a FCS school in Delaware.

This pretty much sums it up not sure why people are have a difficult time grasping this.

Just as a fan in general, Iowa finally got a Qb that could rip the ball downfield on a rope and they aren't using him. A complete waste of talent that doesn't come to Iowa that much. Ugh!!!

Is that like "I am your father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate."? (with apologies to Mel Brooks!)

Nah, but it was second or thirdhand information so I take it for what it's worth. Could be something to it but it's not the gospel.

Yes, so true, he has one of the quickest releases in college football and yet he doesn't see the field. But I think most of us are resigned to the reality that he's not going to start, outside a JR injury, until 2016. It has gotten to the point of saying "b******* about it does'n't make it better and just makes it worse".

CJ can transfer to UNI and play Southern Illinois, Western Illinois, South Dakota, and Southern Western East Dakota. I think I would rather stay and compete with the big boys every week...even waiting another year if necessary. That's just me.

I also don't believe anyone is talking about why he will probably stay at Iowa. His legendary status as the backup is lost if he goes anywhere else. He can have one more year of message board legend, who would give that up.

Now, before I get lambasted by CJ's flock of devout followers, I think he has way more upside than Jake...I was just making a point.

Exactly, I'll never be done with the hawkeyes but I've accepted the facts starring me in the face regarding Ferentz.

I look forward to the day when Iowa once agains plays aggressive fun to watch football.
