Please do not rush the field

Unless there are last second heroics, please don't rush the field after we beat Wisky. We don't want to look like chumps. Save it!! We don't want them to get bigger heads than they already have!!

I agree. Rushing the field should be reserved for monumental victories such as clinching a Big 10 Championship. Knocking off the 11th ranked team in the country in game #7 does not qualify IMO.

Screw that. Even if we win by 50, we should rush the field. And tear down the goalposts (or perhaps since they get brought down, put them back up, then tear them back down).

We rush the field if, and ONLY if we beat tOSU and are still unscathed in the B10. Minny is terrible and Iowa could honestly beat them with the second stringers. I truly believe this. I'm pretty sure Hawk fans are smarter than this.

On the other hand, this IS a rivalry, and if it comes down to the wire and we win...expect the field to be rushed. I guess in that case it's not such a bad idea.

This is why I like big road victories better. After big road wins the players stay on the field for a bit and head over to the Iowa section and give some high fives. During big home wins they form a phalanx and head to the tunnel.

So let me get this straight, Iowa fans rushing the field will make Wisconsin players get a big head, or is it the Wisconsin fans after a loss? Just want to make sure.

I think folks should celebrate the win (if we are fortunate enough to get it), any way they want - obeying Iowa City laws of course. Every time fans rush the field for a victory we have celebration judges passing their judgement on whether it is the right time or the wrong time for it. Hogwash imo. Have fun, enjoy the game, it's your ticket man.

Exactly. I've had some great memories rushing the field in the past.

it's your ticket man.

Your ticket entitles you to watch the game from your seat not rush the field after the game. It's a ticket to WATCH the game not PARTICPATE in it.

It is only a matter of time before something bad happens with players and fans on the field at the same time.

In an effort to one-up your use of "hogwash" I'm going to label your entire post as poppycock.

Don't the post cops with German Shepherds down on the field now? I don't know if I want to take the chance of getting my nads bitten off.

The only thing I worry about, is some fan being a little too excited and injuring a player. Can you imagine if Stanzi stepped on some moron's foot and rolled his ankle? That guy would never be able to show his face in IC again.

It was pretty cool after beating the Badgers for the Big Ten Championship in 2004.

I was down there in 2004. After almost getting trampled and having a few OL shove my skinny butt out of the way so they could get to the locker room I've kind of changed my opinion of rushing the field. It could have been pretty bad and was dangerous. Plus, it was so nuts I couldn't even see Kirk lifting the B10 Trophy, a momentous occasion!
I'm with Duffman, I kind of actually like how on the road the players hang around and sing with the crowd and high five etc. At home, they are just trying not to get killed by a stampede of drunken college kids running at them. Just my two cents, but I don't hold it against anyone who rushes for a big game such as #1 vs. #2 (MU 85) or clinching a B10 Title.

We have not rushed the field since 2008 PSU, and we should not rush the field again until after the OSU game, assuming we win, and assuming we are unbeaten at the time and it all but clinches the Big Ten title.

Rushing after 2004 Wisconsin was probably my favorite all-time rushing the field experience!
