Maryland basketball won't be a bad addition but I'm not sure how I feel about the whole. They had to cut 11 sports.

Meh. Very underwhelming additions overall sporting wise. These are worse than the Big 12 moves from a sporting perspective.

Maryland still carries enough of an aura from the Williams/Lefty Driesell years that this will be a good addition as far as basketball. Beating Maryland will still mean something.

If I remember correctly, Maryland plays North Carolina very well over the years even winning at NC.....

We are 0-2 against them all time. I vividly remember playing them with Len Bias on Christmas day 1984 at the Rainbow Classic. The other loss was during the Big Ten/ACC Challenge. One of Alford's early teams lost to them.

They got Delonte Hill as an assistant from KSU a few years ago. They are going to recruit the DC area like gangbusters and will be a tough team to beat. Turg is a good coach too.

in BB its good for the BT and bad for the ACC, also Rutgers will be a good addition to the BT
rutgers in ranked 18th in the newest BCS Bowl, and with the # of high level talent in the state of NJ they will not be a pushover, 15 4*'s and 1 5* for football.
Maryland is the same way 16 4* and 25 3*'s this year and Cyrus last year for other examples.
the BB talent in NJ & Maryland are top notch
neither of these teams will be a auto win for anybody.. alot of people thought TA&M would get rolled by the better teams in the ACC, didn't happen though Missouri needs to beat TA&M to go to a bowl at 6-6. if not TA&M finish their 1st season in the SEC at 10-2
