PJ Fleck Responds to Brian Ferentz Comments

P.J. Fleck’s first game against the Iowa Hawkeyes won’t come until late goctober, but the new Gophers football coach was thrust into a side battle for the Floyd of Rosedale trophy earlier this month:

Two quotes that stood out to me:

“Usually it takes about a year for people to start talking about me and us, but it’s already happening.”

Then stop talking about yourself pal!

“To get those number of early commitments before they’ve coached a game at Minnesota, that is a lot of trust from the kids,” said Allen Trieu, scout.com’s Midwest recruiting manager.

Reminds me of ol' Sarah and her "hopey changey thing".

Fleck @ Minnesota will be interesting to watch. Personality wise...he's a complete mismatch for the sports culture in the Twin Cities. That comes from someone who's lived up here 20 years.

He may be quite successful at Minnesota, but I don't see him staying.

Except its not his first game against the Iowa Hawkeyes, he brought his very strong Bronco team to Iowa city a few years back and may have been here as a player too.

One might think his clothing looks like that because he's moving so fast, but I know he's just wearing skinny pants & a children's size shirt.
Seriously, if we're only allowed so many 55-0 beatdowns of the goofs, I'd like to use one this year, please.

Well put. I wanted to comment on this picture as well, but didn't want to get banned for homophobic comments.

If I recall the game correctly, they were leading by 3 late in the 4th quarter and we scored 59 straight points in the last minute of the game to squeak that one out.

Brian in the article "...I can tell you this much: If the University of Iowa offers you a scholarship and you commit to us, we intend to sign you...."

One name------> Eno Benjamin
Not a good example. The school had every intention of signing him prior to his actions. However there's a QB from IL Beneventti from a few yrs back that would be a great example. Iowa offered him and 2 other QBs. They all committed and eventually closer to signing day they yanked his offer because he was the worst of the 3 and they had no intent of singing 3 qbs in one class...

Doesn't sound like Fleck really understood BF's comments. Probably best for him to not let this escalate. Seems like people are trying to make more of his response than there is.

Apparently, you didn't obtain the whole story. There's a reason why Kennedy & White were fired...

Bingo, terrific example. Yea, Eno didn't follow Ferentz's requirements on not taking other recruiting visits.
