Pinstripe Ticket Sales

No idea how many have been sold. I know our allotment was 7,500. I'd be surprised if we end up selling 2,000 of those...

I've used this line before but it applies here. I would rather go to a Proctologist with fat fingers and a depth perception problem. No thanks Mr. Delaney, you don't need to put B1G teams in bowl games north of the 35th parallel in late December.

I

Correct!!!!

So only the parents of the players are going so far... Wonder what Bartas first guess at how many tickets Iowa fans would buy up would be. To know how far off the pulse he is with this would explain a lot. I mean outside of turning down the bowl what could Iowa have done to go somewhere else?

I would say 50% fan apathy, 45% cost, and 5% weather. Don't underestimate how freaking expensive it is to travel to, and stay in, NYC around Christmas. Fans were willing to pony up for an experience like the Rose Bowl, but no way are they going to pay up for a "meh" bowl like the Pinstripe. Especially when it will probably be really cold. I think a lot of fans were expecting the Music City Bowl so it was extra disappointing to get put in the Pinstripe Bowl.

Kudos to Terry Tegen for trying to spin the Pinstripe Bowl as a positive when everyone sees it as a negative.

Morehouse just tweeted the the university has sold less than 1000 of them so far.
Just saw a report on Cedar Rapids TV that Iowa reporting 2000 sold. On same TV report they said Iowa State has sold 15000 and Memphis as well!

Gee. I am just amazed that this bowl is not more popular with fans. As far east as you can go in this country; cold weather with abundant snow; you cannot drive there unless you are totally insane; airline ticks are stupid expensive for several hours of miserable seating conditions; the stadium is designed for baseball; bowl games in general have gotten SO expensive; I have gone to many bowls over the years when we went to places like Florida, Texas (loved the Alamo Bowl); no more of these trips for me. I have now seen a Rose Bowl, so that bucket list item is filled. I now hit all of Iowa's away football games and really enjoy that experience. I have been to all the BT stadiums now. Never again to PSU, Rutgers, Maryland. At least with the East and West divisions we still have a BT feel in the conference for us Midwesterners.
