Pinstripe Bowl

I am seeing a few bowl projections where Iowa is projected to be in the Pinstripe bowl.

What are the odds they would send Iowa there in the same year they already played at Rutgers. So if any Iowa fan was planning a trip to New York to watch Iowa play, they already probably went, right?

If you spend time and money to go to one of these bowls...well, you obviously have more money to set on fire than I do.

Yes, the organized tours are expensive, but some find it worthwhile, not having to worry about anything.

A large number of fans drive to the game.
You can usually find decent hotels, via Priceline/Hotwire/hotels.com etc. a few miles from town.
The bowl activities are mostly free.

My first bowl game was the 1995 Sun Bowl, when I was stationed at Fort Huachuca, Arizona.
Then, I just went to the game, but since then, I usually arrive a few days before the game, to enjoy the local and bowl activities.

You wouldn't burn as much money as last year in Pasadena. It's a bargain! The trip isn't as longgggggg. Maybe not enough miles to decompress after a blow out...loss.

I don't want to play some little school that went 10-2 or 9-3. I'd rather play some P5 team that doesn't want to be there. Only shot to win. Little guys roll big boys that don't want to be there, NDSU style.

I was going to start a thread and ask when Jon was sending out his bowl package info for this bowl game.

A couple years of no bowl games or really crappy bowl games and Jon may change his tune once again in regard to the Ferentz regime. Of course, they probably made enough profit off the Rose Bowl last year to last for many years. Hopefully many fans learned a lesson from that situation. (inflated ticket prices) Tickets were available around the stadium for well under face value, right up until game time..

Be honest with you, I'm not sure they typically make a lot from the bowl games. I know it's pretty common being in the black after playing in some of the lower tier bowl games.
