Pierschbacher to Alabama (reportedly)

From a couple recruiting guys on twitter (can't link from phone), he is likely to flip to Bama. Will announce his decision whatever that may be later today.

I think Bama gave him an ultimatum to decide before the season starts. I hope he does verbal to them then comes out signing day and flips back to Iowa to pull the rug out on them. I don't think Ferentz would go for it if he were to have him in the loop on it. But if this is what happens it's about all we have to hold out hope for.

I just hate the games. Commit or don't. He isn't the first and won't be the last highly touted recruit to seek greener pastures. If he likes Bama, more power to him. One position I'm not going to get worked up about losing at Iowa is OL.

i can't say i'd blame him for choosing bama. i also can't say i wouldn't be disappointed if he does flip. he's a huge recruit and iowa could really use him on the line

Exactly. Didn't need him anyway. Hell, is it okay for me to be honest on here? Okay, I will. We didn't need him and I personally didn't even want him here. These guys with 4 stars walk in and think they don't have to work hard and then the whole team turns into fat cats. Give me 22 Bob Sanders, Dallas Clarks and Robert Gallerys and I'm fine.

First, we won't really know anything for certain until signing day.

Second, while I don't begrudge this kid for playing wherever he wants, it would still sting to know to that we had a legitimate shot at him and he went elsewhere. Is it a tremendous set-back to our program if we lose him? Nope. But let's not pretend like we didn't want him and he wasn't going to bring anything to the table.

I've seen some video. Kid is basically Blake Larsen version 2.0.

You realize he's trolling everyone right?

Who cares what school he chooses. In the end it won't affect your daily life, if it does then you need to get a real life. Would it be nice to have him? Of course, but don't lose sleep over it. It's his decision and he has his own reasons and has to live with it for the rest of his life. You don't, just say congrats and good luck and move on.

He might be but curious how do you know? He doesn't sound certain that's for sure.
Edit: Ha! thought you were talking about the tweetor. Nevermind!

Hey Clark, I get it if you don't watch a lot of Iowa football, but we have had a fairly bad run with these "high ranked" recruits. Sure, some pan, like Bulaga and Reiff (and when they do they bail for the NFL early). But we have had plenty who haven't panned. Give me a fella who is ready to stroll in with his lunch pail and go to work everyday over some highly ranked guy on the o-line. Heck, same with most positions. Jake Christensen was a 4 star. You can call me a troll, but Tom Lemming is the ultimate troll because he gets guys thinking it's the end of the world when some 17 year old kid changes his mind. It was the end of the world to a bunch of Hawks fans when we lost this in-state 4 star linemen and the kid never played a snap due to injury.
