Pick YOUR first round upset

I'm picking Metcalf over Trenton Washington (UNI) as my big upset. Brent's on a losing streak while Washington is hot, having just won the NCAA West Regional championship.;)

I could see Pataky over Patterson, Gayeski over Mueller, Scotten over Schlatter purely for injury problems, Kinser over Pami, Brown over Reader if he wrestles like he did at Big 12s, Moricon over Manuel, or Sorenson over Simaz. Some are a stretch but hey, its wrestling.

I thought this thread would spark more interest.

Another upset I can easily see tho not first round......Keddy over Smith

Here are some possible upsets, should be good first round matches.

125 - Patkay over #9 Patterson (although I don't think this is an "upset")
Garnett over #6 Sanders

133 - Fisk over #11 Sentes
Maple over #5 Novachkov

141 - Drouin over #8 Krom
Beebe over #11 Diaz
VonOhlen over #6 Marion
Archuleta over #2 Parks

149 - Albright over #12 Mason
Grajales over #3 Terry

157 - Scooten over #6 Schlatter
Kinser over #7 Pami
Bonilla-Bowman over #2 Hall

165 - Grayson over #8 Onufer
Caldwell over #12 Young
Brown over #4 Reader (same guy that beat Perry a few years ago)
Amuchastegui over #3 Marable
Epperly over #6 Vallimont
Jones over #7 Morningstar

174 - Moricone over #9 Manuel
Rella over #3 Henrich
Burk over #10 Blanton

184 - Ward over #1 Smith

197 - Drury over #8 Yohn
Sorenson over #4 Simaz

HWT - Wade over #3 Rey
Berhow over #11 Monteiro
Fernandez over #10 Russo

Onufer went to the same HS I did .......so I hope that one goes his way.
I think Simaz is seeded to high.
I could see Kinser over Pami
IF MM can't learn to be "ready" anyone could beat him....when he's "ready" he can beat ANYONE in the weightclass.

With that list you GOTTA get some hits!

USA beat me to it, I did a breakdown of most likely by each weight. I might add a couple but most of mine he has listed.

149: Cheza over Chamberlain
184: Miller over Pucillo
Hwt: Bugenhagen over Z.

This is the easy way out but either way your first major upset is guaranteed to happen in the 184 lb pigtail. Pucillo vs Miller. Who ever loses would be considered an upset. Miller was the 174 lb runnerup last year and Pucillo was the 184 lb runnerup, so either way a defending runnerup is going to lose their first match. Cheap pick but the thread was pick your first round upset and this is mine.

My personal thinking is that it is "upsetting" having these 2 meet in a pigtail but OK......if you are going to say "who ever"..... just don't run back wanting too many props on this one.
